About Me

I love meeting people with diverse interests.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I recently moved to a house where I have enough room to host someone. I like the idea of getting to know someone from another culture, learn how they are different (,and how not). It adds a dimension to travel that

No travel experience is complete without getting to know people from where you go. Couchsurfing gives the opportunity to meet people and experience the city for what it is, not as it is seen through the lens of a tourist.

Interests

Too many!
Reading, history, travelling, music, mountains, the brain, the stars, psychology, culture, people.

I'd love it if you could be the spark that adds something to this list.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - Mostly old stuff. Pink floyd, Eagles, The doors, The Who, Dire Straits, Mark Knopfler, David Gilmour, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zep..... and a little bit of the rougher stuff, occasionally... AC/DC, Iron Maiden, Audioslave, etc. etc..

I also love fusion music that is born out of cultures exposed to music from both the east and the west. Arabic fusion works particularly well. I am also open to suggestions, since I feel quite exploratory of late.

Books: A lot of non-fiction, ranging from history to chaos theory to astronomy to the brain.
Fiction: I love holmes, Lord of the Rings, and some of the heavier stuff - the usual classics... Animal Farm, Frankenstein, a few from Steinbeck, Jonathan swift, Henry James, Coetzee, Gabriel Garcia Marquez

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Well, if getting incredibly lucky counts... I once narrowly escaped a rampaging elephant, resulting in a most interesting psychological phenomenon of my life. .. but that is something I cannot explain in a paragraph. :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I would have loved to teach someone to cook something nice from where I come from, unfortunately I don't think I could pull that off.

Maybe we try something together, though. :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Every person you meet adds a little bit to you. So I will share back a little bit of yourself.

Other than that... A beer, a good conversation, a long walk, liberal views and an open mind.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Czech Republic, France, Netherlands, Poland

Countries I’ve Lived In

Germany, India
