About Me

Hi there! I'm half-Brazilian, half-Canadian, born in Scotland and have lived in seven countries and twenty-six houses in my life - that's almost one house every year I have been alive! I'm a friendly, openminded and positive person interested in meeting other people and learning about different ways of life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I became a member of Couchsurfing in 2015 when I moved to Paris. Since then I've traveled all over the world and met like-minded people thanks to this amazing network of interesting, talented and passionate people. I don't know what my life would look like without the goodwill of fellow travelers!

Interests

My philosophy is simple living, high thinking. I like to live with intention and consider the reasons and consequences of my lifestyle choices. I do my best to live a cruelty-free, plant-based lifestyle with awareness for my impact on the planet while striving to minimise my use of single life plastics and other waste.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love playing the piano - classical pieces are my favourite. I have played since I was six, but I have just started learning to play the ukelele recently. It is a great instrument to carry when traveling because it is portable and a great conversation starter in public places!

I enjoy reading books which are about the country I am visiting. Right now I am in India, so I am reading 'Shantaram' by Gregory David Roberts - it is epic! I laugh, I cry, I gasp, and I feel like I have really lived through the experiences of the narrator.

Last year I made my way through Miyazaki's beautiful animated films - my top three are Howl's Moving Castle, Spirited Away and Ponyo ( so cute! ^.^ )

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the best things I have ever done was train to become a Hatha Yoga teacher. The programme lasted five months and involved living an intensive yogic lifestyle in an ashram called Isha Yoga Center in India. I will always remain humbled and grateful for that spiritual experience which remains close to my heart.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to have a jam session with any other musicians out there! I'll bring the ukelele, you bring the maracas/ guitar/ tabla/ etc.
I can also teach simple techniques to prepare the body and mind for meditation.
