Overview
About Me
We are Jose Vitor Barros and Abhinav Tyagi. A couple of a sociologist and an astrophysicist. No doubt that we love traveling, since getting to know the world around us in our own disciplines, is kinda what we do professionally. Haha :) Other than loving each other, we love to love poetry as a full-time job :) Oh! but we never forget to have our silly time -- I mean we both die for sitcoms- Superstore is what we finished recently (funny that a sitcom can make u cry towards the end).
All in all, making new life experiences together and sharing them with others is the constant engine of our little love-cart.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Well! going to a new place and exploring it on a deadline can become pretty hectic. U certainly miss various sweet spots. But with the support of a local Couchsurfing fellow, it becomes so much easier.
And we know that we are not supposed to say it as one of the reasons explicitly here 😅 but we both are students and travel on a budget, a little help here financially goes a long way into enabling us to know more of this beautiful globe.

Music, Movies, and Books
Jose:
Music
I am very eclectic and always open to discover new music and genres. One day I can be listening to Brazilian Popular Music, and then change to Classical Music, and then to Reggaeton or Pop and end up at Indie :D
Films
I really like comedy and musicals but also love documentaries and historical films.
Books
I love reading. A life without books would be hell to me. I have a broad range of interest topics, from sociology and politics to Joyce and Kafka (and George R. R. Martin lol). You’ll probably never find me without a book.
Abhi:
Music
I love to listen to classical music. Indian classical music (Instrumental) is a lifeline I use while sleeping, studying, showering etc. Recently i have been into a lot of pop music, Aurora's music will remain close to my heart forever.
Films
Well mostly sitcoms, but i never mind a good thriller and horror genre gives my life a little adrenaline rush in times of need ;)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Jose:
An ethnographic research with Haitian migrants in central São Paulo that took 3 months. I was able to understand how they viewed their own experience living as immigrants in Brazil, and also make some good friends.
Abhi:
If I have to choose one, my first 10 day silent meditation retreat will remain an experience always adjacent to my heart.
