About me:
As a rare international Swede I LOVE experiencing new places, cultures, languages, foods, you name it! Traveling is one of my favorite things to do; and preferably with lots of outdoor time. The more time spent in parks, nature reserves, by lakes, in forests, etc., the better!
My love for nature and interest in the environment has led me to study biotechnology at the engineering school KTH in Stockholm, Sweden and to be very active in Climate friendly activities! I try to live my life as sustainably as I can (I’m eating fruits and nuts as usual as I’m writing this!).

My lifestyle:
I ride my bike everywhere, yes, even during the freezing Swedish winters. Call me crazy for for doing it, but I love it! My diet is pretty close to vegan (I'm happy to hear inspiring speeches about why I should be completely vegan). I love fruits, but I do not eat any other form of sugar and have not for the past ca 6 years. So although I appreciate the gesture of sharing a cake, I would have to decline, but I would be absolutely delighted to share a mango with you :) To live more sustainably, I do not purchase clothing. If you have any tips about cool second hand shops, I will totally update my hipster style closet contents. Recommendations about how to live an even more eco friendly, minimum impact life are gladly accepted :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Why couch surfing?
Spending a night or two in a new city sleeping in a hotel is a tragic waste of time. Putting yourself out there, accepting that new unknown things can and will happen makes a trip a million times more exciting. Couch surfing lets you experience a place in a more authentic way: letting you get close to the people and the culture, which you really can’t do in a white washed hotel room box... need I say more?

Interests

Interests include mostly outdoor activities and sports, but also all types of subjects to philosophize about. Currently I’m very into genetics and ethics. They don’t seem to be related... but I will gladly explain to you how they can be!

Books: nothing beats a good Sci-Fi book (Dune, Seveneves, Snow Crash)! Biology, genetics, and evolutionary science are my newest interest (The Gene, The Vital Question)
Music: Electronic and Dance music!
Movie: favorite movie is The Square. If you don’t know it, check it out!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Another bonus of the student life is the broke life (therefore I think couch surfing is pretty awesome), and I work as a Math and English tutor for young aspiring students. I’ve had a great time the past 2 years helping high schoolers in Stockholm with their school work, nudging then all to be the best students the can be!
