About Me

New to Couchsurfing and have only used it a couple times, but I’m very excited about the places I’ll go and the people I’ll meet with it!

Long story short, I’m a girl living in Colorado from Alabama. And honestly I wasn’t a big fan of CO at first, ONLY because I had previously lived in San Diego where you have the mountains, the ocean, and the desert all within 45 minutes of you. But now I can say that Colorado has grown on me and that I’ve got the mountains in my blood:)

I love to travel-I wouldn’t be on here if I didn’t. I’ve started road tripping a lot over the past 4 years, and have been to 32 states & counting, and lived at an orphanage in the Dominican Republic for a couple months, which isn’t much to most people, but a lot for most people from Alabama;)

For my summer job for the past five years, I’ve moved to a different state each summer and knocked on doors 80 hours a week selling educational books to families. I sit down with over 3,000 families each summer and help their kiddos with education, so I’ve fallen in love with getting to know people from all socioeconomic backgrounds. Some people think I’m crazy for doing that, but I’ve loved learning how to work hard, face rejection, and just learning how to keep my heart and mind open to those who are different than I!

Despite what the news and my southern family says, I don’t think the world is a scary place. What I’ve found is that we’re all the same. We’re all human and we want to love and be loved. So, to whoever has it in their heart to host me, be prepared to be loved on and connected with. But disclaimer, not “loved on” in a sexual way because I’m currently engaged to the love of my life;)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to get to know the places I stay through the eyes of the locals in that area. I think that’s how one learns the most from traveling.
