About Me
"So tell me about yourself!"
Probably one of my least favorite things to be asked to be honest hahah.
Where do I begin? I was born and raised in Fayetteville, NC, USA because my father was stationed at Ft. Bragg with the Army, Special Forces. My mother came to the US from South Korea when she was about 8-9 years old. And my father grew up in El Paso, TX. I was fortunate in a way to not have had to move as much as most military families do. Partial to southern living, but I have never been able to stay in one place too long. I love to see new places, learn about the history and the culture, and eat all the food I possibly can while I am there!! I am ALWAYS looking to try new foods and learn how to make them. To me, food is love. It's how your grandmother would always try to feed you multiple meals in one sitting and then try and send you home with leftovers and desserts! It's when you bring your favorite dish or an old family recipe to a potluck for work or friends. Every meal has a story and carries a fond memory with it.
But when I'm not stuffing my face with food, I enjoy being outdoors any chance I get. Kayaking or fishing, white water rafting, tubing... I am a black belt in Tae Kwon Do. I love pilates and most calisthenic exercises. I'm a huge dog person, or just a huge animal person in general! So wherever I can bring a furry friend, I try to go! Generally pretty active.
The latest scientific advancements also excite me! Particularly those in the field of medicine, as I am pursuing medical school after completing my undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and Healthcare Management!
I absolutely adore children, as I am the eldest of three in my own family. So I prefer big families. The more the merrier! I have nannied and babysat every since I was in high school!
Music has been something that was presented to me at a very young age. I took up piano when I was a small child and played for several years into my adolescent years and as I began college. A way to express myself and a good outlet when I would be stressed.
I am half Korean (mama's side) and half Mexican (dad's side). That being said, I under Korean almost as well as I understand English. I can read and write fairly well. Now, Spanish... lol here is where I struggle. My father was always away for work and wasn't able to teach me. But I took classes in high school and some in college. So while I may be able to catch certain words or phrases.. it's still something I'm trying to learn. Hoping that during my travels in Barcelona, I will be able to practice it a bit more!
