About Me

Currently planning the next adventure.

The travelbug bit me when I was still a kid and since then I've been trying to be on the road to see and experience new places and cultures as much as possible. I eat almost everything (have tried fish eyes, fish brain, blood clots, other brain, chickenfeet and more), though it really doesn't have to be that exotic. After having lived in Sichuan I've grown to love spicy food.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

So far both hosting and surfing have been great! I've been a host and have couchsurfed myself. both have been very pleasant experiences. I've met many interesting nice people through cs so far and really enjoyed it.

Music, Movies, and Books

- Movies:"Das Leben der Anderen" is one of my favorites, "Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon", "little Miss Sunshine"

- Music: Caravan Palace, José Gonzales and Olli Schulz, Beirut, Elbow, Iron&Wine, Jimi Hendrix, Joan as Policewoman and Kate Nash. Generally I can bear everything except for Britney and hard techno. If I can chose though I'd most likely put rock, alternative or salsa on the player.

- Books: I absolutely love Haruki Murakami! His books are just the right amount of crazy and beautifully written, always a new surprising turn on each page. Another favorite author is Stephen Fry.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

it's too hard to chose just one thing, there's always something fabulous to be seen or experienced. But in an abstract way I think it's amazing to know that no matter where in the world I travel I will always find friends.

Teach, Learn, Share

I've studied Chinese and could teach you the most important basic sentences and (more importantly) what dishes to order and how to tell the waiter that you want the beer cold :) I also love to cook, though that's more one for sharing than teaching... I'm always interested to learn about other cultures and their cuisines.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'll happily cook for you, share my travel stories and listen to yours and of course I'll do the dishes too.
