Hi,
I am Vivien, I live in Ludwigsburg.
That is a beautiful Baroque city near Stuttgart - we have three castles. :)
The biggest is surrounded by a park called "Blühendes Barock" which means "Blooming Baroque" that includes a very nice, charming and kind of old fashioned fairy tale area. I love being there enjoying the flowers and the people in holiday mode.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love travelling and meeting people.
When I am travelling on my own it sometimes happens that I stay on my own because it isn't that easy for me to start conversations out of the blue with people I do not know, yet.
But when I am couchsurfing, or visiting friends of friends who happen to live where I want to stay for a while I already have a person (or more persons) to talk to and who knows which spot should be visited or avoided etc.
Next point is that I do sometimes have problems with the travelling industry and especially the fees for a bed in a room that is sometimes rotten.

Interests

I love reading, cooking vegan dishes, playing board games with my friends, making new friends, bicycling, hiking, travelling, visiting beautiful places, listening to music, directing plays as well as acting, singing (I never said I was a good singer, I just love it), talking about interesting topics, watching series and shows I like, ...

In July I'll fly to New York City to watch Hedwig and the Angry Inch, An Act of God and maybe some more shows - it depends on the amount of money I have then. I will stay for one week. That is why I am looking for nice contacts in NYC - I've never been there before and would be so happy to meet nice people there.
I do already have a place to stay.

Music, Movies, and Books

I do have very different favourite books, there is A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett which is with me since I was a child. Making History by Stephen Fry is also a book I love and A Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams as well as his book Last Chance To See.
I also like The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman as well as other books by him. I am a bookworm so there are many books I like. Right now I am reading books written by Chris Colfer.
Movies: Despicable Me, Moonrise Kingdom, Pillow Talk, Struck by Lightning ... I dislike Horror
Music: Katzenjammer, Richard Bona, Darren Criss, ZAZ, Max Raabe, Sam Cooke, Cat Stevens, Beatles, Miss Li, Songs sung by the Cast of Glee etc.
Series: The Big Bang Theory, Glee, Downton Abbey, Friends, Gilmore Girls, Cybill

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Directing Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, the people I worked with were awesome, it was so much fun.
Also really amazing was my bicycling trip from Ludwigsburg to Cologne. It was my first long distance tour I did totally on my own, in my pace. I was so thankful to feel how powerful my body is. It took me nine or ten days to get there. This trip was the most empowering ever. ;)

Teach, Learn, Share

Oh, that's a tough point.
I'd love to learn Spanish but I am an absolute beginner.
I'd love to share company, meals, stories, laughter ...
Everybody you meet teaches you something, even if you do not realize it in that very moment.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can cook for/ with you and then share the meal. We could spend time together in conversation or while you show me your favourite places of the area we are in.
