About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I am hoping to study experimental archaeology at University College Dublin so I my mission is to learn more about both the subject and what it's like to live in Dublin.
ABOUT ME
I've spent the past few years studying Fine Art at the Glasgow School of Art, and the past few months working to earn some money for a masters/travelling. I'm obsessed with spoon carving, walking, tree ID and many more things (see interests section below).
Wild and windy weather is my favourite, although it's true that sun puts me in a good mood (though doesn't it for everyone?). I love the landscape of north western Scotland, it's so wild, rugged, harsh and wonderfully stormy; there's nothing more amazing and frightening than a wild sea in Scotland.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet interesting people in new places, of course!
Interests
I am a keen amateur green woodworker (with what many people would say is an unhealthy obsession with spoon carving), although I am also expanding my talents beyond spoons. Photos of what I can make and things I get up to are on my insta page at instagram.com/vcwoodcraft. This interest in craft and art has led to a new interest of experimental archaeology - which is why I am looking to visit Dublin!

Music, Movies, and Books
I like debating and having opinions on pretty much everything, and film, music and books are no exception. The best recent film I've seen is Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri; I like listening to a range of music from dub to Scottish trad; and the books I'm into at the moment are all about history and archaeology (research).
Teach, Learn, Share
People are fascinating. Part of what I understand couchsurfing to be about it an exchange of skills, opinions and passions. Finding out how people think and how they see spaces and places will always be fascinating - a discourse that I hope I can contribute to.
What I Can Share with Hosts
There are many things that I love to share - ranging from spoon carving to drawing. I'm practising my woodworking teaching at the moment so any willing student is always very welcome! And of course, I'll always be happy to give away spoons and bits of art to hosts.
