Sobre Mim
I was born in Ufa and spent the first 13 years of my life there. Between the ages of 10 and 12, I've also lived in France and South Korea with my parents for ~1yr each, where they had post-doc/visiting researcher appointments. We've been in the United States since 2003, living in the suburbs and Chicago proper.
I'm interested in literature, science & engineering, film, and feminism. Always curious to learn more about Post-Colonialism, Critical Theory, Linguistics, and the ways they can intersect. If you're into blacksmithing, biomedical research, writing, identity, or any of the topics I mentioned above, we would probably have great conversation!
I really don't like stereotypes, racism, sexism, generalizations, nationalism, or prejudice. If you prefer to see the world through these lenses, I think it may be best you find another host.
Por que estou no Couchsurfing?
For me travel will always be principally an intercultural exchange. I grew up amid many cultures and I value very deeply learning other people's perspectives. Whenever possible, I seek out recommendations from locals over any "for tourist" books or sites.
