Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing helps people from all over the world to meet and share their experience. You can make new friends, share your stories, understand local culture much better and visit various non-obvious interesting places.

So, for me the most memorable things in every trip are the atmosphere, emotions, people met and stories shared.

Interests

I like to travel and try to do it as much as possible at the moment.

Also I like cycling (usually do it in Finland), hiking (already hiked in Slovakia, Poland, Norway, Georgia, Albania, the Azores), often participate in 'Running city' which is a Russian urban orienteering quest.

Sometimes I hitchhike while travelling — it's really fascinating — you get acquainted with so many people and do 'understand' the country much better. Actually, it's usually the only option for me when I travel on my own, otherwise I would get bored too fast :)

I speak Russian, quite fluent in English but, of course, there are a lot of things to improve. Recently started learning French, let's see how it would go (hope, I won't give up as it has already happened to German many times :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Probably was inspired to travel after reading Jules Verne's stories in childhood. I used to read much that time, now things've changed, I'm still reading, of course, but much less, unfortnately.
