About Me

Hello dear Couchsurfing community,

My name is Vlad and I'm a traveler from Dracula's country, Romania :D . I was born and grew up in the ''Little Paris'' an alternative nickname for Bucharest, the capital city of our country :D

I like to consider myself charismatic, easy-going, curious, talkative, funny and full of life.

I looove traveling so much and I can say is my biggest hobby.

I always listen what people have to say and I make easily new friends all around the world.

The word that defines me: wanderlust - it runs in my family. I traveled to 67 countries until now and still counting :D

''Travel as much as you can, as far as you can, as long as you can! Life is not meant to be lived in one place''
-this is one of my favorite quotes and I try to respect it as often I can.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love Couchsurfing because I can make friends all around the world.

It is absolutely fantastic when you just fly to any country and find a couch to crash on for a few days.

Your host will tell you the best things to do in his/her city, show you the famous landmarks from the city,
direct you towards the nearest bus stand or metro station from where you can explore this new city you have just arrived in.

How can you have friends all around the world? Well, Couchsurfing is the 1st step towards that!
I think that being a good host is the best way to participate and help this wonderful community.

So, when I'm available I am glad to help everyone that need a couch and a guide in my beautiful city, Bucharest and why not, outside Bucharest as Romania is so amazing!

Couchsurfing helped me to have a lot of interesting experiences and meet amazing people.

What can you tell about a country if you stay at a fancy hotel/ hostel/ all inclusive etc.? Well, not many things. So skip hotels and go for locals ;)

Interests

For some, travel’s a dream that comes true once a year. For me, it's my biggest hooby.

I'm always looking for travel deals and plane tickets and I try to travel abroad at least 5 times every year.

I love to travel because it gives me a sense of adventure and freedom.

It allows me to get away from my “normal” life, experience other cultures and to get to know places I have only seen in movies or pictures or I just heard about.

My travels always changed my perspective and opened my mind and my soul, making me a better person.

Traveling allowed me to learn and to love other cultures, marvel at beautiful landscapes, and value all what I have.

I really learned more about life from traveling than all my years in school and I'm really proud about it.

When I travel, it's when I feel most alive. It is a time when I’m inspired to seek new adventures, to explore, to make new memories, to discover the simple joys of nature and everything around me and to bring a renewed interest in life.

So I can truly say that for me, TRAVELING = LIFE

Music, Movies, and Books

I am really passionate about hip-hop, rap and anything that cheers me up.

One of my favorite bands is a rap band called Parazitii (the Parasites) .

I love to read, especially travel books and guides that take me to far places like the Lonely Planet guides. I collect them as well.

I'm a big fan of horror movies, dramas and thrillers (in this order).

Here are some of my favorite movies:
Hostel 1, 2 & 3
Saw Series
The Shawshank Redemption,
A Walk To Remember
The Green Mile
Final Destination 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5

So I would like to see some nice horror or drama movies with my hosts if they like this genre.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've done many things in my life until now that I consider to be amazing:

1) I traveled to 68 countries

2) When I was 18, I traveled to Argentina and Uruguay. It was my first flight...an 13 hours flight....and the first time traveling solo. It was one of the best experiences of my life that I'll never forget.

3) Crossing Israel/Egypt border at Taba by walking and going all the way to Cairo by local public transport.

4) In November 2016 I quit my job and traveled for 6 months around Europe and South-East Asia

5) I swam in Pacific, Atlantic & Indian Ocean
