About Me
Hi everyone, I’m Vova.
I was born and lived in Russia, then moved to Armenia, and now I’m based in Germany.
I already have quite a bit of Couchsurfing experience, mostly through friends and friends of friends, but not much through this app, and I’d like to change that.
I’ve always wanted to travel by hitchhiking and Couchsurfing, but I never had the courage. Now that I’m in my thirties, I feel it’s now or never.
I’m a native Russian speaker, fluent in English, and slowly learning German. I can be chatty or just a good listener, depends on the vibe. I really enjoy learning how people live, not just in different countries, but in general. Everyone’s life story is unique, and that fascinates me.
I’m a bit into tarot (can do a reading, my deck is always with me), happy to help with simple household tasks, and I actually love washing dishes.
I’m a calm, kind, and down-to-earth person. Also, I’m an openly gay man, married, in case that matters to you.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've always dreamed of trying Couchsurfing. I like the adventurous way of traveling it offers. Back in Russia in my youth, I sometimes hitchhiked to different cities and stayed with friends.
I don’t have much travel experience, and I want to see if this way of traveling suits me. Some may think starting in my thirties is late, but for me, it’s now or never.
My husband and I are friendly and welcoming. We have experience hosting guests through friends, and we’re happy to host through Couchsurfing too. Our apartment is small, so we need to plan carefully, but we enjoy meeting new people whenever we can.
I’m on Couchsurfing to meet people and see how they live. Travel for me isn’t just about places. It’s about stories, connections, and being part of a community that welcomes each other.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I got married.
It may seem simple, but there’s a twist: I grew up in a homophobic country and never imagined I would leave it. My husband is also from Russia, and getting married was quite a journey for us.
After everything we went through, when it finally happened, I couldn’t believe it was real!

I’m happy to share stories from my life in Russia, Armenia, and Germany, or just listen to yours over coffee or a walk. You can practice some Russian with me if you want, or we can chat about movies, books, or whatever comes up.
I always have my tarot deck with me, so if you’re curious, I can do a small reading just for fun. I like helping with simple things around the house and keeping a good, easygoing vibe.
