About Me

Romanian guy🇷🇴 studying and working in Dublin. I live in a nice very central apartment overlooking the James Joyce bridge on one side, the Guinness Storehouse on the other.

I love travelling, I do not exclude one day giving up everything and just travelling up until I tire; looking for a travel buddy for this🗺️💺!

I moved to Dublin because one day I want to be an English-language writer, currently working on the dialogue of my characters. I also want to try my hand with film production/scriptwriting, have quite an interest in cinematography🎥.

I LOVE HOSTING PARTIES/MOVIE NIGHTS🥂.

420 FRIENDLY🌿.

LGBTQ+ FRIENDLY🏳️‍🌈.

I AM NOT ON SOCIAL MEDIA👀.

I like doing random things, from 4:00 A.M. walks to Bull Island, to having a drink in interesting corners of Dublin, to introducing myself to people and trying to strike a friendship if I like them. Join me in any of these things🍻!

Let us discover Dublin, and also Ireland together🇮🇪!

I am very open-minded and honest, if you want to tell me/ask me something, then go ahead, asking a question doesn't hurt nobody. I won't give bad reviews just for a question😃.

VACCINATED WITH TWO JABS💉(but I do not care about your vaccination status, don't worry I won't even ask you, I am protected and the rest is your personal choice).

Currently doing a master's by research in mathematical finance (if anyone cares). It is actually quite interesting, using mathematics you can even discover psychological phenomena.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Every year I plan to travel at least one month; this year I hitchhiked through Albania, Montenegro and Spain; I am currently too busy with my studies and work, hence I want to meet people that travel, with them I get the same feeling as being in a trip myself.

I am also looking for a travel buddy, I am planning to go between April 2022-August 2022 in a couchsurfing/working at hostels for a living trip in Latin America (but I am very open to suggestions, I say Latin America just because Spanish and Portuguese are the languages I am mainly focusing now, but if you want for example Southeast Asia, then let's go).

Interests

Let us do the 40+ km Dublin Mountain Ways together, get drunk/sing/party all the night in the famous touristic pubs of Temple Bar (or some 'original' pubs, as a true local recently pointed out to me).

Or museums. Or one of the many cinemas and theatres of Dublin, a city full of 'nerdy' stuff to do.

I like both quiet sightseeing days and nights full of energy.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I like to cruise between genres, better let me tell you what I listened to the previous days: general party songs, Queen, Gorillaz, Serge Gainsbourg, Nina Simone, a little bit of classical, some Romanian cheesy songs (Carla's Dreams), the only song I actively listen from Ed Sheeran (Photograph, although he is generally not bad), a lot of Latin American music (Tom Jobim, Vínicius, Jorge Cafrune etc.). This is just a snippet of my musical tastes though, I will force you to share your favourite music with me.

Books: Haruki Murakami, Patrick Modiano, Mario Vargas Llósa, Isabel Allénde (her older novels), Beryl Bainbridge, China Miéville, many other fantasy and science fiction writers as well.

Movies: the directors I like are Quentin Tarantino, the Coen brothers, Wes Anderson, Paolo Sorrentino etc.; I also enjoy a lot comedies, or superheroes movies, I just need to be in the mood for them.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I prefer to tell you about this face to face.

Teach, Learn, Share

If you are vegan then you are welcome: although I am not one, I am very interested in vegan cuisine, and I would certainly like to experience veganism with you during your stay.

Teach me yoga.

Cook me your local food, of course if we can find the ingredients (Dublin is rich in Romanian stuff, so maybe I can do this though).

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can teach you English/Romanian, cook for you, take you for a random walk in your own city, stay up until late and have drinks with you and tell you about myself, or I can listen to you (pretty good at this).

I can also help you (hopefully) with Maths/Physics/General science assignments and projects.
