About Me

After living in a bunch of countries fled from Ukraine and currently looking to settle down in Italy.

CURRENT MISSION

learn, travel a lot, do science!

ABOUT ME

Quit PhD, quit software engineering career, quit brain research career, was forced to quit political painting career and finally doing robotics.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've decided to travel a lot, and that is the way to share your culture and find out more about other cultures! We are all different and that's great, we should all live in peace, that's my philosophy! Make peace not war, find more about all kinds of different people!

Interests

My main interests are mechanical engineering, teaching, neuroscience, physics, psychology, photography and traveling. As for neuroscience, the most interesting question for me is how does the consciousness work and I'd be happy to have a discussion about that to find out what the other people think.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: a lot, in particular some classical music (Beethoven, Chopin), ragtime, old american music like Rudy Vallee, early 20th century Russian music, something from Soviet union epoch, and also a bit more modern like Beatles, Muse.

Books: a lot of Boris Vian, Nausea (Sartre), Surely you are joking Mr Feynman (Feynman), a lot of Marquez, some Remarque, Dostoyevsky, The Great Gatsby by Fitzgerald, Dune by Frank Herbert and more (I read a lot).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've given a physics lecture to Buddhist monks.

Due to my electronics education I have been shocked by all kind of voltages: 24 DC, 110 AC, 220 AC, 380 AC, 25kV DC... and yet still alive =D

I've practiced winter swimming in the 0 degree water a lot of times.

I was a tour guide taking people to ancient temples in Cambodia at night illegally (because at night they look the most magical).

I climbed the Brooklyn Bridge.

I've crossed borders of 3-5 countries illegally (depending on how you count).

I've practiced lock-picking (just as a sport).

I've done both skydiving and bungee jumping... but it is not as amazing as above because when something is planned it is less adventurous.
