About Me

CURRENT MISSION (updated May 2020)

To nurture my body, mind and spirit! To grow and evolve into the higher more conscious version of myself that I know is possible~ the past two years have been dedicated part-time to dramatic metamorphosis of my being. I spent most of my 20s locked into the world of academia: it was expansive in many ways, but also a sheltering and damaging experience in other ways. After only one year of working full-time in the health care industry I developed tons of physio problems (pinched nerves, carpal tunnel, overweight) as well as mental problems due to the high-pressures, stress, and toxicity that thrive in some of our "healing" work-place environments. Last year I fully took the leap and QUIT my job, and this year I didn't even renew my practicing license: it's time to start fully listening to my body and soul and honouring that I need to make better sacrifices ~ so 2020 is all about FULL-TIME metamorphosis. Couchsurfing is a huge part of it~ being in conscious community, co-creating positive experiences with others and challenging myself to a more active nomadic lifestyle (as a remedy to the sedentary-ness) is where I feel my best self.

ABOUT ME

Firstly, my Myers-Briggs test will tell you that I am very introverted, which couldn't be nearer the truth. Haha. However, if you hit a good topic, or strike the right chord then I will seem like I'm overly extroverted. Be prepared for either.

Secondly, I'm very ambitious. I find something that I like, and I'll do whatever it takes to do it. I get inspired very easily. I obsess about things people would find strange (haha like my recent obsession with toy pianos) :P

if you REALLLY want to get to know me, then please take a look at my website, it encompasses many of the things I do! :)

I am also sole Creative Director, Creator and Producer of a local project focused on showcasing the beautiful talent of Saskatoon. If you stay with me you might get a chance to meet some lovely local celebrities and get inspired by the beautiful souls of Saskatoon:

PHILOSOPHY

Look at all the variety in the world. Look at all there is to be learned. Sitting at home and doing nothing is a waste of a lifetime. I grab opportunities as they come by me. I am ambitious. I believe that every human being has the capacity to become GREAT and anything they need to! Just need to work towards it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I participate by having my home open to anyone who (dares) to stop by through Saskatoon! I don`t know why travellers from exotic places all over the world would want to be in this flat farming province haha, but if they are ever here my home is always open for them to be welcomed into!
Any future trips I plan to make, I will use CS to the max because I hate being a "tourist"... I want to live with the people, and experience their country how they do!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Couchsurfed all over Japan on my cycling trip from Hiroshima to Tokyo!
Couchsurfed in Vancouver and Victoria.
Hosted as much as I could here in Saskatoon. Not many travellers come by unfortunately! :( Can't wait to relocate to a bigger city and get more involved with hosting! ^_^

Interests

Music Production and Multi-Instrumentation: I play piano, toy piano, acoustic/classic/electric guitar, accordion, erhu, pipa, native american flute, sopilka, didgeridoo, accordion, glockenspiel, basically anything I can get my hands on...i LOVE music.

Film Production: I do my own directing/writing/filming/editing. Fun hobby of mine. You can see some of my works on my website/youtube.

Breakdancing: I try to experiment with all the diff styles, but my biggest passion is in the balancing aspects. Headstands, handstands, headspinning, 1990's, etc are all some of my favourite things to work on.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: I'm willing to share any knowledge I have. I love teaching people to play instruments, although sometimes my impatience gets the best of me :P haha. I think many people make up excuses for not learning to play music (i'm too old, i'm not musical, etc) but I want to show them that that's no excuse.
Learn: I'm open to learning just about anything. I'm a very open minded person and love being put into strange new experiences.
