I am Ukrainian who lived most of his life abroad following my professional and personal demands - being engaged in the energy construction projects all over the world and changing the residence every year. Since 2022 settled in Germany and will stay here for while at least until the situation back home will not change. Over the course of life I have collected plenty of different hobbies and passions - wakeboarding, photography, trekking in Himalayas, playing Native American flute, piano, handpan, theatre performances etc. In different periods of my life some of those passions were prevailing and then relieving, giving a way to a new experience. Currently in addition to above I dedicated lots of my free time to motorcycling in general and exploring the world around in this truly engaging and exciting manner.
Always happy to engage in a conversation about psychology, oriental cultures and western philosophies, esoteric and so on.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We had joined Couchsurfing quite some time ago back in 2014 as hosts while living in Bangkok. Our apartment was big enough to welcome new interesting people coming to Thailand and looking for a place to stay and company to talk.
Since then, we got two kids, and being overwhelmed with what life had to give and challenges to overcome, the idea of couchsurfing was abandoned for some years. But since last couple of years I have started with solo motorcycling trips to different destinations in Europe. Traveling is all about new experience to make, especially exploring the world or even the neighborhood on two wheels but big part of it for me is also about meeting new people. That is particularly relevant for the solo trips ... after full day of motor roaring and sticking midges :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Currently reading Zen and the Art of Motorcycle-Maintenance in English and Atlas Shrugged in Ukrainian translation, both are great and highly recommended.
Otherwise, my favorite filmmaker is Andrei Tarkovsky, especially his "Solaris" and "Stalker". BTW Solaris by James Cameron with George Clooney is also a pretty decent work. Then it is "Legend of 1900" and series of "Westworld". I'll add some good stuff later on :)
