Overview
About Me
Hey! Things have changed a bit since we first started hosting. We now have a house full of dogs and not much space (6 Labradoodles (poodle / Labrador retriever mix). If you are cool with that, please by all means be in touch. Sometimes I can host in Nipigon where I stay for work one night per week and there are no animals there.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
CURRENT MISSION
New people you meet can enrich your life and bring new perspectives. Mission is to meet people whom I never would have a chance to meet otherwise!
ABOUT ME
Optimist, positive outlook, I enjoy learning and speaking languages. Will never refuse an offer to go out for a run, bike, ski or gym!
PHILOSOPHY
Life is an adventure!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We love hosting! Our philosophy is that if we are unable to travel at any given point in time, having a guest from from far away is like bringing the world to you! We can host in Thunder Bay, and also sometimes in Nipigon
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My first guest taught me it's not just about the couch, it's about meeting interesting and cool people, especially ones who are so different from you. We learn from each other, challenge our assumptions and exchange stories. The stories live on! This opens up a whole new world for me, my friends and my family! It even gives us a fresh perspective on our own home.
We have enjoyed couchsurfing in Mexico City, Minnesota, Atlanta, Costa Rica, Montréal, Berlin and soutwestern Germany. One of the most amazing experiences was getting invited to a wedding in Mexico City!!! Another great trip was when we got to return a visit to a couple that stayed with us in Thunder Bay, and we got to go and visit them and their families in Germany 6 months later.
We have hosted so many interesting people. Our guests have come from all over, including Germany, France, Korea, Czech Republic, Poland, Ecuador, USA, Quebec and many other places! We look forward to meeting many more interesting people!

Music, Movies, and Books
I love variety. My musical tastes change frequently. I currently like Chillstep. Last year I listended more to alternative rock, especially new music that is a little edgy. Typicall after a few months I might switch to something completely different, such as country, 70's pop or 90's grunge music, or who knows what's next! I used to listen to classic rock, but not so much anymore.
I prefer movies with a strong character development, characters who are interesting yet believable as a person and foreign language films.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I once got stuck in an elevator squished together with 14 sweaty people on a hot summer's day
I ran a half marathon in Setagaya, Japan as part of a goodwill exchange, and stayed with a host family with 3 school-aged children. It was a culturally enriching experience!
Lived and worked in France for 6 months in a small industrial town called Montluçon, about 4 hours south of Paris
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you how to train for a marathon. I can teach you how to trace your family history.
