About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I'll be conquering Asia (again lol) from mid August to mid September

ABOUT ME

Witty, charming, funny, interesting, dedicated to helping people, passionate and smart.
Not necessarily in that order, but all true!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I try helping whenever I can, usually by showing people around and teaching them little things about the city. And I do mean the interesting things, not the boring stuff!
At the same time, I try to take advantage of the opportunity to learn something myself, as it is always interesting to meet and discover new cultures.

Interests

I live and breathe bits & bytes. As a geek, I'm into computers, technology and the never ending world wide web.
I'm also fond about travelling, learning and really getting into different cultures. As a kid, I had the opportunity to travel quite a bit, and the passion never stopped.
Discovering little but fascinating gems in a place, and learning stuff whereever I go, are what drive me.
And music of course. I'm into the good old rock, genre 70's - 80's when the good stuff was still made. I enjoy more modern music as well, and I have a weird fascination for J-Pop. Not kidding.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Comedy, Fantasy, Sci-fi or Horror movies are the ones I like the most. Nothing like getting a good scare once in a while :) Thrillers and Action are excellent as well. Not really into Drama, but there are of course some good ones out there

Books: mainly Fantasy, but I enjoy reading about Travelling, especially books describing an adventure. But also even just plain country guides

Music: Rock & (J-)Pop

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Japan, which I visited in March 2011 really struck me. I was there when the quake struck, though I was quite a distance away from the epicenter. However, through that experience, I got to see the Japanese people in a calm, and in a more upsetting sense.
The beauty of it all was, that there was no real difference between the two. Even in a traumatic enviroment, everyone stayed rather calm and organized. Not because they didn't care, but just because they're like that. Always in a hurry and on the move, but very Zen at the same time.
A thing of beauty.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can find you a beer you'll like in only 3 tries max! Often, 1 is enough!
If not, you'll have had fun trying!
