About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Volunteering in Papau New Guinea.

ABOUT ME

I'm at a stage in my life where I feel quite content. I think one of the most important things in life is to create fun whenever you can, where ever you are! With that, I try to inject humor whenever possible - it's helped me through difficult times in life. I like to think that I am open-minded and interested but I can also become easily distracted (hence my aspiration to be present!). I generally thrive in social situations and love the excitement of getting to know new people but I also know how to chill out and unwind like the best of them!

PHILOSOPHY

More aspirational: Being present, doing what matters, being curious, kind and being passionate.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Host, surf, meet.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far so good! It's awesome to meet local people as you get a more authentic experience.

Interests

I try to do things that I love everyday but I'm always open to discovering new interests.

Music, Movies, and Books

All sorts - I've never been that good at giving specifics here :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Learning to scuba dive in Lombok.

Teach, Learn, Share

I think a life underpinned by a deep sense of curiosity is key to being exposed to new ideas which helps keep that sense of "wonder". One of the ways to do this is to engage with people and listen deeply.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Language learning
I can help non-native English speakers improve their language skills. I can help beginners/intermediate to improve their German skills.

Experiences
One of the best ways to explore your own city is when you host a traveler. I'm spontaneous and down to explore so we could join in some adventures together.

Cooking/eating
I'm into food and I've picked up a few tasty signature dishes that I might be able to prepare depending on ingredients and time. Happy to cook. Also, due to family health issues I've spent a lot of time and energy working with professionals to learn how to create healthy meals.

Exercise
I do love exercise so I'm happy to be a workout buddy as I like to maintain fitness when I travel (at least I like to aim to ... haha).

Other stuff
I've made a career out of helping businesses to identify problems and overcome them e.g. redesigning some governement services in New Zealand to better meet the needs of the public. Surely, then I might be able to help hosts with developing ideas, troubleshooting etc.
