About Me

I grew up in the Macedonian countryside, in a family of farmers (among other things) but I mostly spend every summer helping my parents or grandparents plow the garden, collect hay for the cows, pick fruit and make rakia and preserves, and I believe that one day when I settle down I'll go back to that lifestyle. In any case, this made me deeply connected to the land and the natural world.

While chasing my dream to become a filmmaker and finding the perfect place for me, I lived in a couple of different places - Prague, Sofia, Stockholm, Berlin, and various Andalusian villages, and now I am living in Skopje, but I am still looking for that place where I would like to settle down forever.

Apart from being passionate about storytelling, I am all about nature, animals, cooking, traveling, adventure sports, spending time with friends and family, meeting new people, and listening to their stories.

I am happy to host in Skopje, however, in July and August I will be mostly traveling, but message me in any case - if nothing else I am happy to give you some tips. If you love nature and adventure, there is a lot more to Macedonia than Skopje and Ohrid.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I believe a cultural exchange - truly getting to know a place and its people, is probably the best way to overcome many of the world's problems that stem from prejudice. Also, I never liked spending a night at a hotel and seeing a place as if I entered a postcard. We need more kindness in the world in general and this seems like a wonderful way to practice it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiking 10km in the dark with no other light except that of the moon, on our way back from half-dome in Yosemite. Breaking into an abandoned ghost house surrounded by graveyards. Coming face to face with a black bear. Swimming across the bay of Kotor in Montenegro. Jumping into waterfalls and watching herds of reindeer calmly grazing around me, discovering canyons, I lived with an old lady in Andalusia for over two months and built drywall by myself to protect her land from erosion.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a good cook and I am in love with Macedonian cuisine, so I'd be happy to teach you some recipes. I love writing and painting, and its always enjoyable to share this with people that are interested. Traveling around the Balkans I have discovered some pretty amazing places that people would normally not know of - but I will be glad to share them with you, as long as you promise to respect the place and keep it safe.

What I Can Share with Hosts

We have a nice stone house in the mountains in Macedonia, with lots of flowers, honeybees, a natural swimming pool and I am happy to welcome my hosts to visit and enjoy our little paradise. And of course hosting in Skopje as well.
