ABOUT ME

After more than 10 years working in hospitals in Germany and London I decided to take gap-time (basically quit my job) and go for a long term travel.
I'm travelling since November 2012, mainly through SE-Asia, enjoyed everyday and never regret it.
I'm a very open minded and sociable person who enjoys sitting with friends, have a yummy meal or just drinks together, do some music jamming but also going crazy on the dance floor (sometimes).

The greatest thing with traveling for me is meeting so many amazing people from all countries everywhere. A good reason for me to sign in here when I learned it can help in many different ways.
So far I just used it to share a ride but since I'm here in Australia I hope I can also use it sometimes to meet and stay with locals and learn more about "everyday-live" which is for me far more interesting than hostel allday.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Traveling is for me taking part in a different culture. Experiencing everyday life and taking part in varying countries is much more interesting to me than ticking boxes of seeing the 10-must-have-seen-recommendations of Lonely Planet (but sometimes I tick 1 box ;)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None. I just was told of a good friend of mine who had just good experience with it.
So far, I had always a friend where I could stay during this 6 months travel

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the most amazing places I've seen where the Victoria-Falls from Zimbabwe and Zambia side.
Another one where the lava-fields and the lava-flow on Big Island/Hawaii and the sunrise on the Haleakala mountain at Maui/Hawaii

Teach, Learn, Share

On my journey I studied traditional Thai-Massage for one month. In Taiwan I provided and practice.
I'm always happy to offer Thai-Massage but only the proper, traditional one to relax joints and muscles and to increase the energy- and blood flow.
