About Me
ABOUT ME
I am Yannick, originally from Belgium, I live and work in The Hague, The Netherlands since April 2022.
I love to meet people, hiking, scuba diving (I am an SSI divemaster), go out with friends, discuss current issues with them and above all spend the time that we got here on earth as a very happy and good time and see as much as possible of it.
PHILOSOPHY
Don't be a coconut
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm trying to inform as much as acquintances as possible about CS. It's still not very well-known and if we can get more & more couches where can be surfed over the world, it would be a huge improvement for travelers all over the globe.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I surfed and I hosted already (with) quite some people over the years and each experience was special and fun in its on way. They were all great people, from the young Jordan camelkeeper in Aqaba up to a retired Swedish couple in Arebro, Sweden.
When I was travelling with Boris and later on by myself in the summer of 2011, I hitchhiked through 7 different countries in Eastern and Central Europe and surfed a couch in each one of them.
Definitely my best trip I ever had so far. Can't wait do some more of that, but outside Europe then.
With only you're sleeping bag in your hand you're the king of the world!

Music, Movies, and Books
Too much to sum up here, rather discuss with me in person ;)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
*Slept in a Morrocon Dessert for 3 nights next to some camels
*Stole a Mexican hat from a Romanian beach bar (not the smartest idea)
*Drunk singing in the metro of Paris & Stockholm
*Celebrated '14 juillet' (national French celebration day) on the French island Corsica
*Bought some special vegetables on a school trip to Amsterdam
*Had the craziest nights of my life in Lisbon, Portugal & Berlin, Germany
*Had the most awesome year of my life, studying in Sweden
*Walked and ice-fished on the biggest (obviously frozen) lake in Sweden, the Vänern lake
*Got in for free at a Belgian festival with a rented van saying my friends & myself were delivering tents there
*Drove a boat down the whole East coast of the Greek Island Corfu and slept in it over night in the partytown Kavos while it was only permitted to go max 15 minutes away from the coast.
*When I was going out late in Gothenburg (2nd biggest city in Sweden) I got robbed on the street but I reclaimed my wallet from the robbers and they actually gave it back! Lucky shot!
The list goes on and on...
