ABOUT ME

We are a family of 6! Married coming 16 years, our kids range from 10-14 years old. We live in the country, homeschool our children, are involved in our local church with music, teens and young adults. We love music, play multiple instruments each. We have 8 beautiful fox-red yellow lab dogs (outdoors!). Darcie teaches piano lessons. We love to host people. We love our friends and family, except our family is so far away. So our friends become our family! And our ramdom aquaintances become our friends!

PHILOSOPHY

Christian belief system without religious and rule filled lifestyle! Believe that we should live life, and live it to the fullest. Our kids are super important, as they are our future!
It's not about us. It's about people, relationship.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We are involved in Couch Surfing because we love to meet new people, to learn from them and make new friends! We also are starting to travel more, and with 4 kids, the idea of CS makes it much more affordable.

Interessi

Music, performing and writing! Hiking,skidooing,quadding,fishing,swimming, really anything outdoors. The quiet of country life. Long talks with good wine! Doing what we can to live our lives for the purposes of God, to serve others.

Musica, film e libri

Darcie loves to read novels, anything that's a great story. She likes all styles of music, except heavy metal. Gabe likes biographies and historical literature, and his fav. music is heavy metal. go figure.

Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto

We work in Ukraine and Crimea to build their communities of relationship, faith, and economy! It is an amazing opportunity, and we have made many very close friends there over the years! Darcie travelled to Vizag, India in 2012 to do free medical clinics in some of the villages around that city. What an incredible, humbling experience.
We got married, did a year of college each, had 4 kids and moved 5 times in our first 5 years of marriage! and we survived to tell about it!

Community and relationship! In ancient times as travelers would pass through communities, there were people that would take them in and feed them. This was normal! It's time to get back to our roots of community and family! Love and trust! I've learned from many relationships that we need to trust and love over the walls that our socitey tells us to construct in fear. Couch Surfing is a great way to take down a wall of fear and use those bricks to build a relationship!
