About Me

Last year, I embarked on a solo cross-country journey from SF to NYC by train. Venturing out of my comfort zone, I met hipsters who were actually lumberjacks, saw Republicans, ate at chain restaurants, spoke to nice people aka Midwesterners for the first time in life - pretty transformational experience for a cosmopolitan city kid like me. So this year, i went to Miami - the douche capital of America and basically undid all that personal growth. But hey, it's all about the journey right? I can truly say i lived a life full circle.

I'm your typical New Yorker. Never waited at a stop signal in my life. Always rushing. Eat pizza while walking. Obsessed with efficiency and productivity. My Evernote account is the most valuable thing i own. I order my Starbucks on my phone so i don't have to wait like peasants. Trying to live a healthy Vegetarian lifestyle. I'm a Minimalist so i own exactly 12 Jackets. A full black outfit is always acceptable here. Because they reflect our souls - all black. Appreciate Genuineness above all and I like to keep it simple.

And humble.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Trying to do my bit towards paying it forward. People have always fascinated me. They often say that travelling makes you more open-minded, but i think it's the people that do that, no matter where you are.

Interests

Standup Comedy
I know you love laughing. If you convince me to perform for you, depending on the day i promise to give you a good to a great laugh.

Biking
I'm an Avid cyclist and i race for my school. I also have two bikes so if you are the kind of person who likes to explore a new city by bike, you will see a side of New York you would never seen before.

If you're terrified of biking in general, you should "fuhgeddaboudit" in NYC, especially with me because I ride like a maniac. Well, if you've seen the movie Premium Rush, then you know what I mean. I'm physically incapable of riding like a decent human being.

Sounds exciting? Then let me take you on the ride of your life around Gotham. I'll show you how to navigate around difficulties in life like a New York City biker dodging cars and pedestrians at high speed. We'll toughen you up a little, NYC style.

Drinking
Currently doing "50 coolest bars to drink in NYC before you die". Like Arnold Schwarzenegger says, "Come with me if you don't care about your liver."

Movies
Huge movie buff. I am that guy you can have long discussions with about pretty much any movie.

I've also gotten into skateboarding recently.

Scroll down to the bottom for some NYC tips and for my favorite restaurants and bars!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Traveled cross-country from SF to NY by train over a month.

Teach, Learn, Share

Share
If you want to know all the insiders' secrets to New York City, rest assured. I've got you covered. I spent my school years here and as you can imagine, you do a lot of crazy things in new york city when you are in school.
Specially created 1-7 days itineraries for guests with all my favorite places (& no subway needed!)

Teach
I've been into Hobbyist photography since a few years. Like taking photographs? I would love to share my knowledge of photography or talk different techniques with you.

Learn
If you speak Spanish, we should talk in Spanish! I'm still an intermediate Spanish speaker but i could really use some practice. If you are learning Spanish, i could teach you a few things.
