ABOUT ME

Hi!

Allow me to tell you a little bit about myself...

I am a Digital Advertising Specialist for KelownaNow.com. In addition, among other things, I write a volunteer music column about the Kelowna music scene for KelownaNow, and I am the co-creator, main content creator and host of Alt Rock Radio Now.

I'm originally from Salford, Greater Manchester, England, and I moved to Canada around Christmas 2004. I have lived in Kelowna for most of my time in North America, and I absolutely love it.

I am an easy going guy with a large dose of quirkiness! I really like to make people laugh, and I don't mind making myself look daft in the process. I often describe myself as an optimistic realist.

I value honesty and respect others and their opinions. I believe in chivalry and gender equality. I try to keep an open mind. I enjoy a thought provoking discussion or debate, and I love meeting new people!

I thoroughly enjoy trying new things. That can be a musical genre I don't typically listen to, a new food, a different beer, or a low budget movie. I really love music. If you're a travelling musician, let me know, I know of a number of good jam nights etc. in Kelowna! In general, I listen to alternative rock.

I am a certified history tragic. I simply love the subject.

I am an avid reader. Bill Bryson is my favourite author.

I enjoy acting, and I have been in many productions including theatre, television and cinema.

I love sports (I'm a huge Manchester United fan) and enjoy most outdoor pursuits. I dearly love camping. I would someday like to go on an arctic expedition or briefly live in a small town in the Yukon. I would also like to drive from coast to coast in a camper van before I kick the bucket! Also, I have a black belt in Jiu Jitsu, so don't mess with me...

So basically, I am an Englishman living in Canada. Feel free to drop me a line. I'd be glad to show you around Kelowna!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have participated in CouchSurfing as a host, surfer and unofficial tour guide! I'm not available to host at the minute, but I am ready and willing to show people around my adopted city. In addition, I’d be delighted to meet for coffee (or other similar beverage) to discuss destinations, adventures, or anything else we may find mutually interesting!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In the past, I have played host to CouchSurfers and also surfed myself. CouchSurfing is really fun and it is a great concept.
