Sobre mí

CURRENT MISSION

Earning money and developing ideas to start a business of my own

ABOUT ME

Still learning myself, but the basics are as follows:
I have no problem claiming I'm of above average intelligence, and the most typical reaction, for those who don't know me well enough to agree with me, is to say "You can't say that about yourself!". Well, I disagree. :)
I'm soft-spoken and well mannered. And yes, I am modest as well.
Have spent over two years living in Graz, Austria and loved the experience. Can't wait to go abroad again, and that's sort of my plan - live somewhere else. Many reasons for that, but let's not get into it right now.
On a practical note, I don't drink beer. Shocking, isn't it. Yeah, I'm allergic to hops, so I stopped drinking beer like ten years ago. Bummer. I drink wine, spritzer, apple cider and other stuff instead.
If you found this pretty boring so far that is because my sense of humor tends to burst in sudden and unprovoked incidents. Like, now... [insert joke here]

PHILOSOPHY

Help people if you're in a position to do so. (my parents taught me that)
Never turn down an invitation to go out.

Otherwise, I have no principles that I blindly follow, I just go with the flow and try to enjoy the ride.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've surfed a couch in Paris, Maribor and Hong Kong and had surfers at my place in Belgrade.

Since I also love meeting new people, especially when they visit me in Belgrade, where I can show off my knowledge of history and culture geographically located in Belgrade, I'm offering my couch and accompanying services to "the community".

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Excellent

Intereses

It's hard to say what I'm interested in, since with different people I have different types of rapport, about a variety of topics.
I can also spend hours just browsing through Wikipedia, looking for interesting stuff to learn. It can really be anything and everything, from a historic building in Brooklyn, to the Games Theory.
I also love being active, so I play several different sports. I've enjoyed riding my bike around Graz and it's a habit I was trying to continue in Belgrade. Beijing is too big for biking as a means of transportation.
I'm interested in differences in cultures - how people spend their days in other countries, and how similar or different that is to my own country, and my personal life philosophy.

I'm adding this even though it has nothing to do with any of other stuff I wrote: I want to build an earthship.

Música, películas y libros

Oh, I have a large collection of movies, but that's hush-hush, since none of them is in my possession legally...
Music... well, mostly older stuff, non-electronic. Stuff like blues, hard rock are what I listen to the most.
I feel like I don't read enough since I spent my childhood simply swallowing books. Anyone remembers Old Shatterhand and Vinetou? I read a bunch of books by Remarque and for a while that was all I was reading.
Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer was pretty good, much better than the movie. Unbearable Lightness of Being I liked. Timequake by Kurt Vonnegut was interesting. Read a number of John Le Carre spy novels. Finished A Song of Ice and Fire books in about a month, now waiting for new books to come out.

Algo increíble que he hecho

I have spent a month at an international summer school in Strobl (Austria) with 70+ of wonderful people, in a picturesque setting of Austrian mountains and lakes, and it has changed my life for the better. I truly felt after it was completed that it was to be the defining moment in my life since it had widened my horizons immeasurably. It's been many years since then and most of that time I spent living abroad, which was a direct consequence of Strobl experience.

Enseña, aprende, comparte

The first Serbian word most of my international friends learn is "Živeli" [zhee-veh-lli], which is Serbian for Cheers!
Practice makes perfect! :D
