About Me

I am drawn to the beauty of nature and the colorful culture of small communities. Compassionate and nurturing are how my friends would describe me -- most likely the reason why I am a nurse. I believe that small acts of kindness can go a long way, and if you put in good energy, you will receive it in return. I constantly want to learn and explore my surroundings and the people that contribute to each place.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As a new solo traveler, I hope to find friends along the way that can help me gain friendship and knowledge. In return, I want to contribute my enthusiasm and warmth to the amazing couchsurfing community.

Interests

Exploring the world and what mother nature has to offer, often including hiking and camping. Constantly learning about everything, so I can have better perspective.

I'm pretty sure that I live to eat and not eat to live. My life often revolves around food, so I tend to be eager to try local food at the destinations I am traveling. Always better when sharing this experience with a native!

I love to Dance! If you want to go dancing, whether it be to Pop, House, Bachata, or Reggaeton, I rarely decline. Although I love to dance, I can't say that I am good at it. :)

Music, Movies, and Books

There is nothing like listening to Bon Iver or Other Lives while hiking. You can usually find me listening to indie folk rock, but I am really open to anything, including top 40 Pop, classic rock, hip-hop, EDM.

My go-to reads are non-fiction. One of my favorites is Angela's Ashes by Frank McCourt. Although, I can't deny some escape through a world of good sci-fi/fantasy.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I had the privilege of spending 3 months in Vietnam working at an orphanage and women's shelter run by nuns. Although I believe my contribution of help was insignificant, it was a humbling experience to spend time with the children and learn about the women's lives and helping them get back on their feet.

Countries I’ve Visited

Bahamas, Canada, Guatemala, Jamaica, Mexico, Portugal, Spain, Viet Nam

Countries I’ve Lived In

United States, Viet Nam
