Hello there! My name is Vyomesh, but I go by Vyom. I currently live in Abu Dhabi.

I'm a tech enthusiast and a bit of a reader. I enjoy reading about finance and behavioral economics. Lately I’ve also picked up boxing. Music is another passion of mine. You might catch me playing tunes on my guitar or not-so-often partying at a club.

Although I haven't traveled extensively yet, I'm always ready to add another stamp to my passport.

In my professional life, I work for a US-based company. I've moved from the finance industry to a more operations role (project management). I work remotely - a set-up I hope to leverage for my future travels.

More than staying or hosting via Couchsurfing, I'm excited to connect with people from all walks of life and share stories over a cup of coffee or during a city tour.

Travel for me is all about immersing myself in the daily lives of locals, exploring the mundane, and I've found budget travel to be the best way to achieve this. My ideal travel experience is rich with warm encounters with people. After all it's kind-hearted and accommodating individuals that have made my travels wonderful so far.

I'm more than willing to meet up with travelers in Abu Dhabi. Whether it's showing you around or just catching up over a meal, I look forward to it.

The opportunity to connect with locals, expats, and travelers alike first drew me to Couchsurfing years ago. Now I find myself fortunate (and excited) to engage through this platform more actively. I remember meeting with people for some lovely, memorable conversations quite fondly. In the simplest words, it’s food for my soul.

I believe each interaction, conversation, and shared meal is a doorway into a new culture, a new perspective. This exchange of stories, experiences, and worldviews is what I find most enriching about this community.

I believe Couchsurfing provides a unique lens to see the world through - not just as a change in geography but as something full of both diverse and common experiences.

My music taste is as diverse as it gets, spanning genres from rock to rap. Green Day is my all-time favourite band.

When it comes to movies and TV shows, I love comedy and action genres. My top 3 shows Blacklist, Friends, and The Big Bang Theory. Marvel superhero movies are my go-to. I also really enjoy Ryan Reynolds and Kevin Hart movies.

Books offer me a window into understanding the world, be it fiction or non-fic.

There might not be a common theme binding my preferences, but my favourite songs, movies, and books have either touched my heart or sparked my curiosity.

Life is an unending journey of learning. With my background in finance, I am always eager to share insights on investing and personal finance. I also have some understanding of marketing and project management - I find myself drifting into this field slowly. But I'm not all about numbers and data. I also find immense joy in introducing people to my culture.

My curiosity naturally extends to learning from others too. The diversity that fellow Couchsurfers bring is something I look forward to experiencing.

One of the most impactful learning experiences I've had was during a conversation with a fellow Couchsurfer. The discussions around self-improvement and discipline expanded my horizons to say the least.

Teaching and learning have always brought me a sense of fulfillment. When I learn something new, connecting the dots in my mind is like fitting pieces of a puzzle together - feels like an accomplishment. On the other hand, the warmth that spreads within me when someone understands what I'm sharing is equally rewarding.
