About Me
Hello there! My name is Vyomesh, but I go by Vyom. I'm turning 25 soon and currently live in the bustling city of Abu Dhabi. I'm a tech enthusiast and a reader, always eager to learn about the next big thing in technology. I also enjoy reading about finance and behavioral economics. Music is another passion of mine, and you might often catch me playing tunes on my guitar or partying at the city's vibrant clubs.
Although I haven't traveled extensively yet, my wanderlust is strong, and I'm always ready to add another stamp to my passport. My trips to Azerbaijan and Armenia have been quite memorable. The summer weather in Azerbaijan was a delightful break from the scorching heat of my city, while Armenia, with its winter charm, stirred nostalgic memories of my childhood.
In my professional life, I manage divisions for a US-based company, working remotely - a set up I hope to leverage for my future travels. More than staying or hosting via Couchsurfing, I'm excited to connect with people from all walks of life and share stories over a cup of coffee or during a city tour.
Travel for me is all about immersing myself in local culture, and I've found that budget travel is the best way to achieve this. My ideal travel experience is rich with warm encounters with locals, and it's these kind-hearted and accommodating individuals that have made my travels wonderful so far.
I'm fluent in English and Hindi, and while I'm not able to host at present, I'm more than willing to meet up with fellow travelers in Abu Dhabi. Whether it's showing you around or just catching up over a meal, I look forward to making your acquaintance!
As a fun aside, I have personal goal: to obtain a skydiving license. The thrill of solo jumps around the world is too enticing to resist.
Feel free to reach out if you're interested in exchanging stories or exploring Abu Dhabi.
Safe travels, everyone!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The opportunity to connect with travelers and locals alike first drew me to Couchsurfing years ago. Now, I am excited to engage more actively with this vibrant community. I fondly remember when I met a group of locals and travelers in Armenia through Couchsurfing. The sightseeing, the partying - it was an experience I cherish.
I'm on Couchsurfing because I believe in the power of personal connections and shared experiences. Each interaction, conversation, and shared meal is a doorway into a new culture, a new perspective. This exchange of stories, experiences, and worldviews is what I find most enriching about the Couchsurfing community.
My goal is not only to travel but to imbibe. To soak in the essence of places not through the eyes of a mere tourist, but by weaving into the social and cultural fabric of the community. I believe Couchsurfing provides this unique lens to perceive travel - not just as a change in geography but as a journey laden with human connections and cultural insights.
In return, I look forward to offering the Couchsurfing community my insights, my stories, and my city. If you ever find yourself in Abu Dhabi, I'd be thrilled to guide you, helping you uncover its treasures from a local's perspective. For me, Couchsurfing is a shared journey - of places discovered, friendships forged, and horizons expanded.

Music, Movies, and Books
My music taste is as diverse as it gets, spanning genres from rock to pop to rap. Bands like Green Day, Linkin Park, and Black Veil Brides often play on my playlist, and you'll frequently catch me humming along to "Last Night on Earth" by Green Day or "Hey there, Delilah" by Plain White T's. These songs, in particular, hold a special place in my heart.
When it comes to movies and TV shows, my love for comedy and action takes the center stage. I love the shows Blacklist, Friends, and The Big Bang Theory, each captivating me in its unique way. Marvel superhero movies are my go-to, and I love Ryan Reynolds and Kevin Hart movies.
Books offer me a window into understanding the world, and I have a penchant for non-fiction works in psychology, finance, and self-improvement. Two of the books that have left a profound impact on me are "Predictably Irrational" and "Made to Stick." These books sparked my fascination with the human mind and behavior and have shaped my perception in numerous ways.
There might not be a common theme binding my preferences, but each music piece, movie, and book I've enjoyed has either touched my heart, sparked my curiosity, or simply entertained me in an unforgettable way.
Teach, Learn, Share
Life is an unending journey of learning. With my background in finance, I am always eager to share insights on investing and personal finance. But it's not all about numbers and data. I find immense joy in introducing people to my culture.
My curiosity does not stop at sharing my knowledge, but extends to learning from others. The diversity of cultures, experiences, and skills that fellow Couchsurfers bring is something I look forward to exploring.
One of the most impactful learning experiences I've had was during a conversation with a fellow couchsurfer. The discussions around self-improvement and discipline opened new dimensions for me to explore, underscoring the value of these interactions.
Teaching and learning have always brought a sense of fulfillment to me. When I learn something new, connecting the dots in my mind feels like an accomplishment. On the other hand, the warmth that spreads within me when someone understands what I'm sharing is equally rewarding.
