About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To get to know the world so I could know myself and other people easier and better, too!

ABOUT ME

I dearly hope that my friends would say that I am friendly and talkative! I would hope that they said that I am not boring and that it could be fun with me to hang around, take a walk and travel or stroll down the streets at night, grab ice cream or coffee together, and chat about whatever our hearts and minds feel like talking. I guess some might say that I'm smart or always find some random information to say about things from whatever kind of perspective. I am open minded person and try to learn every second from all good or bad examples - I take good in me, and I critically look at bad things and make sure not to make the same mistakes. In general, I just hope that my friends would say that I am a kind, nice and helpful person on whom they could rely on whenever they needed it.

PHILOSOPHY

Open mindedness. I do believe that you have to keep a positive perspective on the world, but still keep an open mind for whatever might come across your way and be ready to take it openly and in a creative way.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I just created my CouchSurfing account, so I'm a newbie here and don't know much. At the moment, I'm in Vilnius and soon moving to Vienna, Austria. Unfortunately, I cannot offer a place to stay now, but I'm always up for a meeting. Some people say that I could be a good guide around the town and would have many things to tell about it.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I used Couch Surfing only twice and did it not by myself but with a friend who had the account. Both times we stayed at people's homes in Jeju Island, South Korea, and it was the most amazing experience ever! Hosts were interesting and good people. It did prove that CS is an amazing creation and is not just about finding a place to crash, but about meeting lots of interesting and extraordinary people who sometimes can become friends for your whole life. CS is simply not a search for a couch engine, it's the style of living!

Interests

I am very passionate about photography and take loads of pictures of everything - people, nature, cities.. I am also very into visual arts - I do draw/sketch a little and love doing it and also I try to improve all the time. Also, geography is one of my biggest loves of life which naturally led me to joys of traveling, camping and hiking. History and cultures also grab my attention and I constantly try to learn more and more. Over the past five years I've been "hooked on" languages and try to learn as many of them as I can, as I believe that knowing and speaking a foreign language truly opens a different world to you - new perspective on things and world balance in general, it helps to communicate and helps to get to people easier, and in general gives a pleasure of knowing more. I do also like sports - mainly basketball, volleyball swimming, and tennis, though I do like to watch all kinds of sports and have basic knowledge about it. What more, I love to participate in "BrainWars" - it's exciting, interesting, you get to know things, sometimes win something and, especially, to spend good time with a bunch of friends! I do like reading, watching movies and listening to music (I cannot imagine a day without listening to music). And oh yeah, I'm studying International Relations and Political Science at Vilnius University in Lithuania, but spent only one year and a half out of three actually being present at this uni. I did two exchange programmes: one in Italy, and another one in South Korea.

Music, Movies, and Books

Emil of Lönneberga (by Astrid Lindgren) which when I was a child, taught me to be creative and open minded, encouraged to explore the world and try things!
Winnie the Pooh (by A.A.Milne) - simply a doze of open mindedness and good and happiness brought into your life in a very easy, understandable to children, but at the same time very elaborate way.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The Best Concert Live - by Kings Of Leon. Nothing felt better and more uniting than singing "Sex On Fire" with thousands of people.
The Best View Ever seen - standing on top of the peak of Bukhansan Mountains in Korea and seeing: on one side - huge Seoul city having 11mln. inhabitants and lying beautifully in the valley surrounded by moutains from all sides; and on the other - seeing indestructible mountain ranges expanding to the vastness covered by forests and "drowning" in the mist.
Most peaceful and striking moment - seeing parents after almost a year of being apart.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach and talk in Lithuanian, English and Italian languages to whomever wants to learn and hear them. I can chat and discuss politics, economics, sociology. I can always tell many things about geography and history of the world. I draw and sketch and paint, so all important people to me are always being awarded with at least a smallest drawing/sketch. I live in Lithuania, lived in Italy and South Korea (am writing a thesis on it) so can tell many things about cultures and civilizations of these countries.

Countries I’ve Visited
