I’m a digital entrepreneur, ex-journalist, dad of three, sauna lover, and passionate traveler who recently got back into exploring the world.

I've always loved far-off places. As a kid, I read books about countries I'd never heard of and dreamed of visiting them. To make that dream come true, I started hitchhiking at 15, joined the Vilnius Hitchhiking Club at 16, and kept traveling until I was around 27. During that time, I hosted hundreds of people in our apartment in Vilnius through the Hospitality Club (before Couchsurfing existed).

Then I moved around and lived in several countries, eventually settling in Finland.

A couple of years ago, I traveled to Saudi Arabia, then went to Mongolia, South Korea (to visit Jjimjilbangs), and the Philippines. These trips made me realize that travel is my true calling.

Now, I’m on the road again, this time with my wife and three kids.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

People are one of the main reasons I travel. I think understanding how locals live and think is one of the most valuable things we can learn on the road. Couchsurfing is a bit like hitchhiking, which I used to do a lot. Every host or driver you meet is unique and different, but most are open to sharing their world with you. That's the best way to learn about new places, cultures, and people in general.
