ABOUT ME
35 yo urban planner living in brussels.
I guess through work and personnal interest I know the city really well. I think Brussels is a great place to live, and a very interesting place to visit. It's not an easy or obviously beautifull/coherent city, but that's exactly what makes its charms. It's the kind of cities I actually prefer, the ones that challenge you a bit...
I lived in Brussels most of my life, except for two exchange experiences
In the US for one year, and in Madrid for 6 months.
I love traveling and I do it often. For now I've mostly done Europe in a very classical form of travel, but I guess I'd like to discover more places and maybe couchsurfing will help me do that!
I hosted only once. I wouldn't mind trying that more often although I only have a couch (verrry confortable IKEA couch however). I guess I'm kind of interested to guide people through the Brussels mess :-)
see you soon in Brussels or elsewhere!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Interests
I don't have any specific things I hate. I logically like architecture and urban planning. It's always a big part of my travels. I like walking with my head up...
In music I think I can listen to everything, but I especially like pop/electropop (deus, mgmt, goldfrapp, vitalic, the shoes, blonde redhead, etc), french (charlotte gainsbourg, Etienne Daho, benjamin biolay), or classical music (eric satie, terry riley, john cage), ...
In Cinema, I like old Hollywood movies from the 50s (wilder, lubbitsch), but also alternative US cinema from the 90s (Jarmusch, Lynch, Tarantino).
I've been going out a lot these past years, there are some good parties in Brussels that you can check (high needs low, catclub, bitchy butch, etc)
I'm also part of the team that develop a cultural project in a train station still in use in te center of the city: www.bruxelles-congres.be. We organize there some exhibitions, debates, parties, film projections, etc. We even created a outside garden so that the neighbours can cultivate their own vegetables.
I practice some sports regularly: jogging, football, badminton, swimming. And I like to watch all that on TV... I do sports on a weekly basis otherwise my body is frustrated.... I also loooove hiking!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
a party in a nuclear bunker in Bratislava, sunrise on the hills of San Francisco, sunset from the last floor of a tower in Manhattan, the biggest beijing duck restaurant in Beijing (3 floors), a storm while landing in Honk Kong, a hike alone on the highest mountain in Basque country, a spa week end in Vals in Switzerland, kitesurfing in lakes in Sweden, mountain climbing in southern France (i'll never do that again!), open art galleries night in Chelsea, a tour in a dodge charger in the Adirondacks forests, sleep on the 18th floor of a seventies tower with a view on Belo Horizonte, walk by -30° in Montreal... Euh... I think that's good enough. Can't wait to complete the list...
