Overview
About Me
During my early twenties, I was an active member of the Couchsurfing community, loving the unexpected encounters, meaningful connections, and inspiring experiences it offered. However, as I embarked on building a career and nurturing a fulfilling relationship, I gradually drifted away from the platform. Today, as I stand at the threshold of a new chapter in my life, I'm eager to rediscover the joys of Couchsurfing, both as a guest and a host.
The title of this section is 'About me', so I will offer you some more information about 'me'. Maybe it's a bit of a cliché, but...I enjoy nature, history, and literature. I'm fascinated by the impact of digitalization (internet, smartphones, social media, artificial intelligence, camera's everywhere,...) on society, relationships, cohesion, well-being, and (in)equality. These are topics that ignite my curiosity and inspire deep reflection. Professionally, I'm an educator, teaching sociology, social policy, academic writing (in dutch ;-)), addiction, and sexuality.
I live with my partner for 14 years, we've consciously chosen a life without children. This decision has allowed us to prioritize endless conversations, immerse ourselves in literature, explore the wonders of the world, and engage actively in social engagements.
I look forward to CS, again!
Best regards
Wouter
