Overview
About Me
Hello! My name is Waas, 25 years old. I am a beginning couchsurfer who is looking forward to join the community!
I have an interest for global issues and the environment, and like to share ideas and discuss these interesting topics.
I prefer to not travel by plane, so I'm either taking busses or hitchhiking when there's no time pressure.
When I'm traveling and staying for multiple days, I like to visit museums, go to nice cafés, take a walk through the park, and explore nightlife.
I would love to meet you!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet people who are open enough to offer somebody they've never met before a place to lay their heads - how refreshingly nice these days! People like that I'm looking forward to meet :)
Interests
Environmental sciences and sustainable agriculture
I'm interested in alternative ways of living personally, but also in how to help create a better, more sustainable culture/society/economy. In my bachelors I've studied environmental sciences and in my masters I studied international land and water management. I'm interested in community-led approaches to ecological intensification of agriculture.
Music
I like to listen to different genres of music and play music! Mostly indie, rock, folk, funk, afrobeat, disco, r&b. I've been playing drums for some time, and guitar since a few years. I also like to sing. If you also play an instrument that's great :)
Martial arts
I practice a mixture of different martial arts with a group of friends - the craziest (in a positive way) bunch of people I know. It's called Tsuriaido, and it's a mixture of soft and hard styles: wing chun, taekwondo, systema, baguazhang, keysi. Basically, a lot!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Went on couchsurfing
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach
I can teach you some martial arts moves, I can teach you how to dance the tango, and I can teach you a song on guitar. If we have materials, I can teach you how to carve a spoon. If we really have a lot of time, I can teach you how to juggle with three balls.
Learn
I would like to learn:
- What I never expected to be fun to learn!
- More (about) different martial arts styles
- New styles or approaches to playing guitar that I didn't know of yet
