Hello! I am a Zimbabwean who grew up in South Africa and now lives in Beijing. I am a student at Peking University pursuing a Master degree in China Studies. I run a blog called From Africa to China and generally enjoy storytelling in its many forms (journalistic, poetic etc.). I have been travelling East Africa with my Brazilian and Belgian friend for the last two weeks. We have travelled to Kampala, Kigali and have just arrived in Dar es Salaam. We would love to meet up with local creatives in the city and get to know Dar from an insiders perspective. We will be here until the 8th of February, before heading to Zanzibar.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing is an incredible way to meet new and interesting people in unfamiliar places. From my experience Couchsurfing in Kigali and Kampala, there is no better way to learn how best to live and navigate a new space. Beyond the convenience of saving money on accommodation, I have made genuine friendships through Couchsurfing and have been able to access parts of new cities I otherwise wouldn't have been able to access. What a treat!
