About Me

Working in tourism is one of the reason I have Couchsurfing account. Born and raised in Bogor, but worked in Jakarta for quite some time, I know lot about both cities. I now live in Bali, thanks to my remote work. I'm also part of film festival that focuses on human rights. So feel free to tell me any films from your country that I might haven't seen, and I'll tell films from my country that I believe you might need to see.

I'm trying to be open minded because so little thing I know from this world and I think I have to taste whatever the world offers (not you, fried tarantulas). Sometimes I'm clumsy, sometimes a joker, but most of the times I try to stay carefree especially when I'm traveling and lost somewhere between the awe of the cityscape or cultural ceremony.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I decide to use my Couchsurfing properly since I've been trying to travel more in 2017. I tried once surfing in Iran and that's when I fell in love with traveling and Couchsurfing. It feels good and addictive to immerse myself in the new culture and new people.

Interests

Video games, social media, films, and anime. I keen to know more too about advertising, marketing, human rights, politics, history and networking.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like a lot of musics, it's just that I have bad memories of the artist name (it's weird I know) I just knew where I heard them for the very first time. Usually from films (Juno, FTW) and Discovery Weekly feature on Spotify.

For film, I like foreign and human right-themed ones, my top 10 in non-chronological order are:

- Departures (Japan, 2008)
- Parasite (South Korea, 2018)
- Almanya - Willkommen in Deutschland (Germany, 2011)
- Children of Heaven (Iran, 1997)
- Song Lang (Vietnam, 2018)
- The Dressmaker (Australia, 2015)
- Yuni (Indonesia, 2021)
- Big Fish and Begonia (China, 2016)
- Caphernaum (Lebanon, 2018)
- Yi Yi (Taiwan, 2000)

Books I usually go for creative self-improvement book like Paul Arden's or Austin Kleon's.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Since I'm easily amazed then I'll say more than one..

- Made my first passport and decide to travel abroad independently to Iran. The Varzaneh desert, Yazd tunnel, Zoroastrian ruins, and Persepolis were the highlight.

- Camping for the first time in Semau island, Nusa Tenggara Timur. This small island was known due to certain crocodile attack. Thankfully we made it home without witnessing any crocodiles.

- Watching Buffalo slaughter during traditional death ceremony in Toraja, South Sulawesi. Not gonna say it's amazing but to witness other culture differently, and extreme one from our POV, it was mixed feeling experience

- 8 km of walking (and dancing) during Taipei Pride Parade, first parade after the country has legalised same-sex marriage.
