About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To serve and support community learning and education through social interactions among people of diferent backgrounds.

ABOUT ME

I am a simple Ugandan male teacher gone back to school to study Lusoga riddles. I am married to Grace and we have three boys. What else can I say?

PHILOSOPHY

Translating the world's abundant resources into tangible benefits for the underprivileged people. I begin with providing opportunities for people from different clotures to meet under local conditions, translating international cultures into local cultures and reversal through written literature and promoting quality recreation, health and education in rural communities. I believe that we all one and have similar interests.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I tell others about the good experiences and I learn from the bad ones.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My own experience was first in UK when I was invited to meals and multicultural talk in York then later in Maslden where I stayed during my first ever visit to the UK and the latest was in Hong Kong. All these three experiences have left lasting impressions on my life. My life in York and UK in general was greatly improved because of this CS contact and my heart tells me to return or do more for these wonderful people I interacted with. From Hong Kong I touched a unicycle for the first time in my life and my host was very warm and inspiring teacher. I look forward always to keep in touch with my CS hosts but my access to internet is still poor but I have taken my lessons. Thank you.

Interests

writing and farming: I have lots of books in my house and four cows at the moment. there is also a little garden with fruit trees.

Music, Movies, and Books

Traditional stories from all over the world.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have written a Lusoga-English dictionary and it has been published. This is a very rare achievement in my country. I have also written over 200 short stories in Lusoga and translated different kinds of plays into Lusoga. I have availed some of them in googlebooks for free download. I support the teaching and examination of Lusoga in Uganda so I am on my toes all the time.

Teach, Learn, Share

NO Names! Just Places! My first experience was with a couple from the Holland. They spent two weeks with us. Towards the end we learnt that they were uncomfortable with the overhead sprinkler in the small bathroom of our master bedroom we had offered to them. They preferred the bathtab in the general bathroom. We adjusted to their wish in the last three days after they had opened up. When another couple from France surfed, they stayed for a month and we used this same bathroom and this time we put them up in another room with two separate beds. They preferred to share one bed and use the other for other things. With both families we shared meals, transport and taught each other how to prepare dishes. Our children enjoyed as much as we did learning and talking. The months after their departure were lonely. My wife and mother-in-law were sometimes on tension wondering how they would please our guests in my absence. It must have shocked some of them but that is how we in Busoga live with people. You can not CS in our house and you are treated as a guest for more than a day. You become part of the family immediately and forever. The proverb is, there is no road through a home.
