About Me
CURRENT MISSION
to be a kind human
ABOUT ME
I was a factory worker, 4 factories and not counting anymore, injured my back at the last job, took a terrible pension, but I get to live in Jamaica, 9 years and counting. I have a gift with dogs so I consider myself a lucky man. I play guitar, mostly to dogs. The more you drink, the better I sound. I am very skilled at backgammon(dice permitting), Jamaicans think I'm good at dominoes(for an American), and I don't take myself very seriously. I can talk to anybody in English, my patois, well, I understand far more than Jamaicans think I do, and far less than I think I do. I have almost no money, but I am a very happy man; that makes me rich.
PHILOSOPHY
I live my life because the alternative sucks.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I live in Negril, Jamaica, which is a big-time tourist destination. With so many people coming from all over the world, it is easy for me to host LOTS of couchsurfers! Because so many tourists visit, I only give one free night. But I keep the room rates very low compared to regular tourist resorts.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I was in a band for 8 years so I have spent a lot of time on other people's couches. I also was a landlord for a couple of band houses so I also know a lot about people spending time on my couches! The more the merrier, keeping it peaceful is the best way.

Everything

Music, Movies, and Books
Currently, I don't have a functioning TV. I don't watch movies very much. American sports as much as I can get. I read at least 2 books a week, a lot more usually. My mom was a librarian, I've been able to read since I can remember. Since I've been in Jamaica, I have learned to appreciate dance hall and hip hop, but I am just a campfire folk singer.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have lived in Jamaica for a while now. It amazes me every day.
Teach, Learn, Share
I taught grade 6 for 2 years when I 1st came to Jamaica. If the school powers that be would have ever started paying me, I'd still be doing it. I have met several of my former students that thank me for showing them that it's OK to want to learn whatever they want. It is not knowledge if you don't share it! I thank my mom for that.
