i am currently embarking a life changing move, leaving my home country/life and starting new

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have couch surfed very successfully I have met and maintained friendships started here
I am currently in travel mode and will look forward to meeting other hosts and surfers

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

mostly good i do find as this project gets bigger that the quality of people joining are thinning and the apathy which some fill out their profiles is disheartening. also when people use this as a dating site or free advertising for their business it looses its credibility
some are unaware that not following up to cancel is not polite and also taints this project

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Given birth at home 2x.
Seen an amazing equinox sunset at the top of Haleakala crater on Maui,
had a small pod of orca whales come along side us while anchored in the Gulf Islands, Canada
Witnessed the aurora borealas on a full moon night in August from a sailboat on a calm lake.
Rowed through a plethora of illuminated jellyfish
Dec 2019 an eight day passage from Fiji to New Zealand in a 65' ketch
watched a dragon fly morph from nymph to adult at the edge of a mountain lake

When humanity starts to put Quality of Life, Regard for Others and Trust as the basis of our value system, then we may see change.
Couch surfing is one small step in that direction when used for it's intended purpose

What I Can Share with Hosts

i am great at cooking, tidying, helping out, getting along.
i have had/have a very interesting life with many experiences that are worth sharing.
one favorite thing i like to share with my host, if it works, is a great meal, nice bottle of vino and share travel, life, heart stories
