My name is Walid Yaya. I am 23 years old. Im' from Togo and living in Bremen, Germany. I am doing my Bachelor in Industrial Engineering at the University of Applied Sciences in Jade Oldenburg. I am passionate about reading; Arts; cinema and many other things. I like to live in community and that is the reason which I chose to live in a residence student. This gives the possibility to surround myself with people of various horizons and learn more about other cultures different of mine. In my culture, more precisely at home in Togo in Sokode, fraternity and hospitality are the foundations in which my community was built. Cooking and music mean for me the best tools for bringing together different communities. I love to cook and cooking for me is one of my favorite hobbies because I never get bored in the kitchen. I have a chance to meet several people from different countries such as Sri Lanka, Indonesia, China, Nigeria, Ghnana, Guinne, England, Morocco, Poland, and many other countries through which I learned a lot about their cultures, their traditions, their cuisines, the characters typical of their countries and their moods. And all this in a friendly atmosphere, in a cheerful atmosphere with a spirit of mutual aid and solidarity. My choice fell particularly on the city of Bremen for my studies because of its green spaces and its history. Nature has a special place in my life. I like to walk through the park, contemplate the landscape, rivers and gardens. The fiesta as the Spanish say I love! I love to party with family, friends or with people I don't know. For me the origin or provenance of a person does not count but rather his way of seeing things and the energy he brings to a group or a community to have fun, to solve a common problem although personal or entertained. Listening to music, biking, Trampoline, spending the wildest nights in Disko, contemplating works of art, being inspired by others, going to the swimming pool, doing Fitness by setting yourself daily challenges are the activities that I love to do and of course traveling.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

 I am in Couchsurfing because I want to meet people exchange experiences, anecdotes and culture. Also because I love traveling, and so much better if they are people who live in the place and can recommend places, discos, museums, restaurant and give me tips.
