Settling into my new life in Viña del Mar, Chile. My main mission at the moment is to become proficient in Chilean Spanish!

My ambitions, personal maxims and constant state of discovery fuel my love for life. In short I am determined, diplomatic, understanding and accepting...

My life's goal: to have the capacity to recount to my grandchildren tales of great deeds done and adventures had, and to impart upon them what wisdom I might have won over the course of a life well lived.

PHILOSOPHY

The beauty of having a subjective viewpoint is that in many ways you create your own reality. Thus I see no need to adhere to one idea and hold that to be true. We are only truly free when we think for ourselves!! I also think that the moral human being follows their conscience in every crucial decision they make.
I am a strong advocate of education and critical thought and could see a better world coming from more of both.
And I invest in the belief of the power of the mind to do great things and to change the world. And with this belief I try to control my reality in a way that pleases me and aids me and those around me.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have been shown much kindness on my travels..sometimes asked for and other times not... My wish is to return this kindness to other travelers..Everyone should explore the earth in a respectful and curious manner, the world would be a better place!!!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have traveled around a bit by couchsurfing (on and off the site) and have thoroughly enjoyed it (save for one experience, regard my references).. I have met people of many different backrounds, stories and general walks of life.. I have always learned a new lesson from couchsurfing each time I have done it and for this I truly appreciate it!! I have found that couchsurfing is a fantastic medium to grow as a person and to connect a beautiful world of many different cultures!!!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I usually have a rather adequate, conscious sense of direction but at times it fails due to fatigue or something of that nature. The amazing thing is I have this bizarre magnetic ability to somehow locate the place I need to be without knowing where I came from or how I got there... Ask my friends... I'll walk through a city completely oblivious, taking the longest route possible, maybe even doing a few circles and backtracks, but if you follow me... we'll get there eventually ha ha ha!!!!

Teach, Learn, Share

I would like to learn of any personal or learned ideas regarding the cosmos, any cooking skills anyone might have and any other practical knowledge or skill someone could pass on. I can contribute with French, a little German, some cooking, skiing or snowboarding... Fire building... Oh and on nearly any occasion will I discuss philosophy with you!!!
I have a certain understanding of what message someone is trying to relay to me whether it is indirectly verbal or through body language..in other words I am an attentive listener/observer and usually give constructive advice when it is asked for...
