ABOUT ME

I am young at heart, if not in age. I'm always busy - I sing in several community choirs, adore circle dancing, being with friend, walking in the countryside and travelling. My and my man, Mark like doing the same sorts of things. We are also very concerned about the environment. We have 3 grown up daughters who are as life-loving and adventurous as we ever were. I never want to stop growing and learning.

PHILOSOPHY

Live life to the full. Care about others. Give graciously and take compliments graciously. Nurture this beautiful Earth and don't take it for granted. Be open to new experiences. Remember others who are less fortunate than myself. I am not religious but acknowledge there is some sort of 'other' out there.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

It's all new to me and Mark. Our daughters have had couchsurfers to stay with them, which is how we found about it.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Eons before Couchsurfing was born I had done a lot of travelling (in Europe and South America) and hitch hiked everywhere. I stayed with countless generous souls who picked up me and shared their house and their enthusiasms about where they lived with me. It's a wonderful way to meet people so I feel Couchsurfers who suit me and Mark very well.

Interests

Circle Dancing, singing and listening to World Music (especially African and Flamenco). I love being in nature, so walking is important. I enjoy reading well-written novels and biographies too. I often watch films and go to concerts and the theatre. I love self-made entertainment with my friends. I also enjoy walking alone and spending time in my own company gardening or reading.

Music, Movies, and Books

Folk music and dance. Circle dance. Loved the film Avatar recently. Loved Bridges of Madison County; enjoy art films too. Enjoy reading novels by Barbara Kingsolver, Ian McEwan and am educated by reading biographies too.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Learning that I COULD sing! and how much pleasure that is bringing to my life - meeting new people around the world; learning different types of singing (by ear).

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to learn new skills - but am rather slow at it. I enjoy meeting people who listen as well as speak; who are sensitive to other's needs; who are generous of spirit; who are interested in the world around them.
