About Me

I'm a mobile health entrepreneur living in Menlo Park / Palo Alto CA.

I like to travel, work remote whenever possible and value the people I met along the way. I grew up in Hawaii and enjoy all types of outdoor activity (e.g., run, stand up paddle surf, hike, cross country ski, etc).

When I travel I enjoy getting to know the local spots and getting good sleep. I'm both self-contained and enjoy meeting new people and exploring wherever I'm staying.

I usually offer my couch to anyone that is similar in nature and enjoy a lot of lifelong friendships with people I've met traveling all around the world who have offered me places to stay as well.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Starting a long road trip for my startup, inward inc (www.MindfulnessDailyApp.com) interviewing experts, users and creating the next wave of content and features.

We're revenue funded and I like to save money when possible to reinvest it into the product ... but really, I also like getting to know locals and experience cities as a local. Hotels have never appealed to me.

Music, Movies, and Books

Hmmmm, too many, changes .... eclectic taste from Bob Dylan to Dub Step and Trap to Raggae to relaxing piano and violin. I love movies that inspire and books about business (Innovators Solution), the mind (The Developing Mind by Dr. Daniel Siegel) and that grip your heart (Shadows of the Wind, The Golden Compass). Ask me again and I'd probably list an entirely different list based on how I felt.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbed a mountain in Nepal and didn't die (although I did hang suspended by a rope in the middle of a crevice when the false snow ledge I hopped across on collapsed).

Teach, Learn, Share

Any questions on enterprise sales (I train founders for fun in sales), how the brain works, mindfulness (I train people, especially people at tech startups, how to become more aware and better at managing stress for elite performance) or mobile apps are things I love to teach, learn more about and also share.

I'd also love to learn Spanish, I've been a very, very, slow learner, my two month trip working remote in Buenos Aires helped, but embarrassing not as much as it probably should have. Same with the Tango lessons I took while there.

I'd also like to learn more about photography, starting to shoot photos with a Lumix for my startup.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm currently practicing my interview and photography skills and can take increasingly stylish head-shots and can record an intimate interview with you that you can have as an audio journal entry for yours to keep :-)
