About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Studying for law school and being all chill and stuff

ABOUT ME

There are a million ways to describe oneself. I am influenced by the zen idea that when describing any real truth, the moment you speak you miss the mark. I am a koan. If I am the one who wrote this profile and you are the one who is reading it, then who are you reading about?

PHILOSOPHY

I don't believe we have souls. I believe we are souls and we have bodies. My personal philosophy has really developed while I spent almost six months WWOOF'ing in Hawaii (highly recommend this). I had almost total isolation and found a lot of peace and quietude.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have surfed several times and had great experiences. Happy to pay forward the favor now.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I used this account to help Terry Hurst find places to stay while he went on a semi-national bicycle tour! I've traveled from SLC to PDX, and stayed in NYC with amazing hosts. I have had several amazing surfers.

Interests

Undermining corporations and their marketing agendas. I started a blog with my friend on 6/22/13. Read it! www.lookingglasslogos.com

Music, Movies, and Books

Reading--My interests are in: contemporary social issues as presented by authors like Naomi Klein, Chris Hedges, Christopher Hitchins, and Noam Chomski; philosophy in general but specifically pragmatism, existentialism, and surveys of eastern philosophy; science and physics--Dawkins' Selfish Gene is my favorite but I'm also a sucker for Amit Goswami; the American transcendentalist movement.

I'm an idiot about music. I like honest musicians. I was really impressed by Macklemore's "Thrift Shop" even though I don't listen to hiphop. I like Radiohead and other interesting, intellectual music. I also love listening to folksy female vocalists.

Movies--I am too cynical to enjoy a good flick :(

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Oh, you have seven minutes to kill and want to go on a trip to DC with my friends and me? Here you go: http://youtu.be/6ayA-rb9Pz4
