About Me

CURRENT MISSION

dropping that load, singing a song and hitting the road

ABOUT ME

I am a young musician seeking new cultures and new music to add to my life. After a few years of hunkering down in my hometown, I am now entering the wide world for as many experiences as I can put under my belt. I want to learn about people, their lives, and their art wherever I go. I want to play music with people as much as possible. I want to listen to what people really have to say. I want to get a sense of realities other than my own.
I grew up on a small island on the Pacific coast of North America: Orcas Island, WA, USA. I greatly treasure the community and lifelong friendships that growing up on a small island provided. The largely unpopulated nature of my home also was a gift that has shaped my character.
Music is very important to me. I would not consider myself an aficionado; I do know quite a bit about it but playing and creating it have always dominated my efforts. I love to jam. There are very, very few things in this world I would rather do than play music with someone.

PHILOSOPHY

I live to progress. My philosophy has always been subject to change, because I am constantly philosophizing!

Music, Movies, and Books

American roots music and all of its children are what I treasure the most, but I listen all kinds of music for all kinds of reasons. I am drawn to people with different tastes to my own rather than similar ones, because they can teach me things about their music that I might not notice. I have gained many "acquired tastes" in music this way.

I am very open to any form or style of art and enjoy other peoples perspectives as much as my own. I am interested in your recommendations.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Thousands upon thousands of salmon, hundreds of eagles, and dozens of bears, all congregating at the same river delta in Southeast Alaska. It was the most incredible showing of wildlife I have ever seen.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach basic carpentry.
I can show you how to wail on the harmonica!
I would love to learn local music wherever I am.
