Hey, I'm Rowan. I enjoy adventures of any kind and am always up for trying something new. I've been living in Louisville for a few years now and my partner and I just recently purchased a home. We have a full guest room and love to host people. We both enjoy travelling and dancing. We also love cooking, playing board games, and hiking in nearby parks. We travel throughout the midwest and sometimes further for dance weekends and enjoy vacationing in places we have never been. Our current big plans are Seattle in 2018, Ireland in 2019, the Adirondacks in 2020, and New Zealand in 2021.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love the community of people helping people that couchsurfing brings together. The few CS experiences I've had have all been wonderful and I'd like to continue creating those experiences both as a host and as a traveler. There is no better way to visit a new area than by getting in touch with the locals.

Interests

My main hobbies right now are contra dancing, aerial arts and fire eating at the circus, board games, and hiking. I have plenty of other interests but these are the ones that are taking up most of my time right now. I also love trying new things and exploring places I've never been.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy well written fantasy books by authors like George RR Martin, Melanie Rawn, or Brandon Sanderson. My taste in music is fairly eclectic ranging from classic and modern rock to folk and celtic as well as instrumental and classical.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went to Japan when I was 14 for a month and had a great time experiencing a different culture. I also had the privilege of returning as an adult recently which was an even better experience. I've been backpacking in several amazing places. My favorite so far has been the Adirondacks. It was incredibly beautiful and very serene in the Eastern High Peaks.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm very much a jack of all trades master of none type person. I have a beginner to intermediate level of skill in a wide variety of things such as photography, archery, rock climbing, aerial arts, fire arts, numerous types of dancing, cooking, diy, gardening, etc. I'm happy sharing anything I know with anyone who is curious.

I'd like to work on learning either French or Japanese. I would also love to pick up a craft such as wood working. Lastly, I'm always looking to improve current skills and would really enjoy becoming a better dancer.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Stories, knowledge, and delicious tea. I'm also happy to show anyone Louisville. It is a great city with tons of culture, wonderful parks, fantastic places to eat, and great dancing.
