About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To finish my play. And to start my book.

ABOUT ME

Opinionated, always up for a discussion. I love to dance, but not very well. I have done a little bit of Open Mike poetry and I love the thrill of that, and the response of the audience. I enjoy challenges, the unusual, complexity, uncertainty.

PHILOSOPHY

Live life with joy and passion. Sometimes I have to remind myself of that. Add in wonder and curiosity, sometimes I have to curb that.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Hosting and Surfing. Would love to do a lot more. Love to hear travellers stories, show them my part of the world, share whatever I can with others whether hosting or travelling.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have been hosting for a number of years, but because I live in a rural area travellers are few and far between. I have surfed on a number of trips in Europe now and it is a wonderful way to get to know a place and its people.

Interests

Many and varied. Words, plants- orchids in particular, textures- particularly those found in nature, people- everyone has a story to tell.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am an avid reader, including phone directories and cornflake packets if nothing else is available, but particularly of non-fiction, science-based stuff, both in books and on the web. As such, TV is not a big thing for me. Oh, throw in Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, now there is a couchsurfer. My memory for detail is not good, I think it was all the mercury and lead that I played with as a kid. I do like music, bands, movies and books, I just don't remember the inconsequential stuff such as title, author, plot, lyrics. But I do enjoy them in the moment.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The experience of open-mike poetry gives me a huge buzz. To move people with words- it's an honour to be able to do that.

Teach, Learn, Share

Phew! I think I have a perspective on the world that is interesting. I have a range of learned and self-taught skills in the biological sciences.

I would love to learn a language. German or Spanish.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Just me. That's all I have.
