ABOUT ME

I'm a life long learner. I am very much interested in human rights and humanitarian aid, but still figuring out what that looks like in the grown up world. I want to fight for people who can't fight for themselves and try to make the world a little bit of a better place.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Couchsurfing is an awesome way to make a quick community with like minded people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've surfed more and hosted one person, and have befriended other couchsurfers while living in New Zealand and Colombia. I hope to do a lot more surfing in the future, as I hope to travel a lot more. I also want to host people in my home when I get more settled. So I hope to be a regular couchsurfer.

Interests

DANCING, cooking and looking at recipes on alternative cooking, reading, writing, arts and crafts (like crocheting), politics, theology, philosophy, the great outdoors, especially the beach.

Books: Anything by Ted Dekker, Pride and Prejudice, Chronicles of Narnia and other C.S. Lewis books, Classics...etc.
I am a book worm!
Music: Matisyahu, Ray LaMontagne, Phoenix, Jack Johnson, Nora Jones, Dino, Family Force 5, Monsier Perine, Choquibtown, Bomba Estereo, Cultura Profetica, cumbia, salsa, reggae, folk, blues, jazz, Bollywood, alternative hiphop and rap, celtic, but my favorite is dc talk...I like anything that has good melody and harmony.
Movies: Hotel Rwanda, Batman Begins, Inception (and anything else by Christopher Nolan or starring Christian Bale), Dear Frankie, I Robot, Hitch, The Last King of Scotland, The Big Short, Saving Mr. Banks, Selma, Disney movies, old movies, and anything that has a good message or makes me think.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Living in New Zealand and Colombia was pretty amazing!

Hiked a good portion of the Israel National Trail.

Did volunteer work with refugees in Greece.

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to teach people about the love of Jesus if they are willing to listen.
I also want people to understand the importance of acceptance no matter the race, creed, sex or religion.
I want to learn how to hip hop dance, how to cook food from other places, how to play the drums. I am open to new experiences.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can talk your ears off about whole food eating and fermenting, soaking/sprouting food and making homemade yogurt. ;) I can dance salsa and swing. I am also ok at crocheting. But more importantly, I'm a good listener.
