About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I will pause to consider this eternity from which the subsequent ones derive.

ABOUT ME

In order to qualify as a protagonist, a human must be able to demonstrate an attachment coefficient of at least 0.75. A coefficient of 1.0 or above is required in order to be a hero.

Factors used in calculating the coefficient include:

-ability to believe
-fervency of that belief
-humility
-willingness to look stupid
-willingness to have heart broken
-willingness to see our universe as nonboring or, better yet, to see it as interesting, and maybe even important, and despite its deeply defective nature possibly even worth saving

I am a student at Stanford University - of artificial intelligence, computer human interaction, human cognition and international public policy, I also am an Astronomy instructor at Point Reyes Field Institute on the weekends. I love engaging with people, understanding diverse perspectives, integrating them in mine and in turn exanding both my world and theirs.

PHILOSOPHY

“Let no one persuade you of a single thing. Study your hunger and how to feed it. Trust in whatever sounds twist your viscera. Write in the cadences of first love, of second chances, of air raids, of outrage, of the hideous and the hilarious, of headlong acceptance or curt refusal. Make the bitter music of bumdom, the sad shanties of landlessness, cool at the equator and fluid at the pole. Set the sounds that angels make after an all-night orgy. Whatever lengthens the day, whatever gets you through the night. Make the music that you need, for need will be over, soon enough. Let your progressions predict time’s end and recollect the dead as if they’re all still here. Because they are.”

That I have existed. My life itself is a continuous amazing event. "Forests, lakes, and rivers, clouds and winds, stars and flowers, stupendous glaciers and crystal snowflakes - every form of animate or inanimate existence, leaves its impress upon the soul of man" as Orison Swett Marden put it.
