ABOUT ME
I grew up in a small town in Western New York. After college I moved to Washington State for a few months, then to the Florida Keys for two years and currently I'm living in Spain teaching English in a secondary school. I'm a bit of a gypsy soul at the moment. I'm savoring the madness of life and embracing the freedom I have to wander.
PHILOSOPHY
So what if your pockets are full, if you have an empty heart.
Interests
I enjoy traveling (...as if that needed stating on a site like this), music, cycling, hiking, photography, reading, and meeting new people (again, with the obvious). I like being intellectually stimulated, feminism, chatting, smiling, being goofy, expanding my world view, social psychology, learning useless fun facts, being mindful, relaxing, and appreciating the little things in life (and the big ones, too!).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In July of 2010, I went to the Underwater Music Festival at Looe Key Reef off the coast of Florida. The water was the most vibrant turquoise I've ever seen, crystal clear all the way to the bottom of 50 feet. As I was snorkeling with giant tarpon, beautiful parrot fish, yellowtail snapper and even SHARKS, I was able to jam out to tunes thanks to the underwater speakers. It was an amazing experience. A definite "pinch me" moment.
My Western NY roots would be embarrassed if I didn't mention snowshoeing through the woods right after a fresh snowfall. The sun glitters off of every crystal of snow, the chill in the air bites at your nose and every step you take feels like the 1st footprint ever left on the seemingly untouched, perfect landscape that lies before you. It's so incredibly peaceful (as long as you don't mind the cold).
Camping and hiking in Asturias (a coastal region in the North of Spain) was a breathtaking experience (literally and figuratively). I had the opportunity to go during October when all of the leaves were changing and the temperatures were dropping. There's something empowering about living so self-sufficiently and without all the gizmos and gadgets that we've made into staples in our daily lives. It was a beautiful and centering experience.
Granada. Tienes que ir.
And hopefully many more to come...
